What should I look for when buying a used Dodge Charger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada’s fuel economy estimates land at 14.1 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 9.0 on the highway, and 11.8 combined for the 2026 Dodge Charger R/T. In the Scat Pack, expect to burn 14.5 L/100 km city, 10.0 highway, and 12.5 combined.

Which Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Charger offers these trims:

• Charger R/T: The entry powertrain brings 420 hp and standard all-wheel drive, making it the starting point for buyers who want the Charger’s performance character with broad everyday usability.
• Charger Scat Pack: This trim steps up to 550 hp, adds the standard Brembo brakes with six-piston front calipers, and includes the Line Lock system; it’s the best-value choice for shoppers who want the strongest performance focus.
• Charger Scat Pack Plus: This version adds the larger 16-inch digital display, wireless charging, built-in navigation, and a 360-degree camera with additional parking views, making it the most feature-rich choice in the lineup.

What Dodge Charger do most buyers choose?

The Dodge Charger years with the most listings are 2022, 2023, and 2021.

The highest-volume years tend to be the most popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and more accessible used pricing.

What is the Dodge Charger's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want stronger value. A few newer or lower-volume years are moving up, showing that demand remains healthy for the freshest Chargers. The biggest drops are concentrated in several older and mid-cycle years, which can create attractive buying opportunities.

The 2023, 2016, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Dodge Charger safe?

• 2026: 6/10
• 2023: 5/10
• 2022: 6/10
• 2021: 9/10
• 2020: 8/10

The 2026 Charger comes standard with Active Driving Assist, a technology package that can manage acceleration and braking and can also keep the car centred in its lane.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
