What Volkswagen Golf do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Golf years with the most listings are 2016, 2018, and 2017.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, condition, and price. They also sit in a sweet spot where used shoppers can balance value and availability.

What is the Volkswagen Golf's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the model years, which can work in your favour if you're shopping used. Several years have seen double-digit price drops, while the smallest changes are still negative, so the overall pattern points to softer pricing across the lineup. That creates opportunities for buyers who want a Golf at a lower entry point than before.

The 2021, 2017, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
