For the year, the car has a great amount of modern features. Drives great in the snow, is comfortable with plenty of room, driver assistance features all worked as they should. The only thing missing is Apple CarPlay/android auto. You simply cannot compare anything to the Legacy. Maybe a BMW 5 Series. In terms of value - the legacy wins every time.

Had this car for 6 years, honestly a fantastic vehicle. If you’re a Top Gear fan, One of the 2 models approved by all 3 gents (Jeremy’s antics aside). Had standard Subaru head gasket leak - but never got worse. Got Harmon Kardon speakers inside, great AC, awesome AWD. Loved this car to death! Highly recommend - will keep you safe in snow. Just upkeep on maintenance and it’s your ride or die.

So far so good! Low mileage, one owner car that was all dealer maintained. Only 115,000km on a 13 year old car. Its the 3.6R limited trim so it also has nice extras.

CarGurus recommends the 2018 Subaru Legacy
Summary
With 54 currently listed for sale and an average price of $14,842 CAD, 37.0% of 2018 Subaru Legacy listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Subaru Legacy 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2018 Subaru Legacy stands out as a midsize sedan that puts all-wheel drive at the centre of its appeal. It was already known for standard AWD, and by this generation it had become a more advanced and refined car with a stronger focus on safety and everyday comfort. Buyers also got a roomy, quieter cabin and a ride that was tuned to feel more composed, which helps explain why the Legacy could feel like a practical alternative in a segment where many rivals still leaned more heavily toward front-wheel drive.
For 2018 specifically, the Legacy benefited from a mid-cycle refresh with revised styling, an updated infotainment system, and a re-tuned suspension. The big technology addition was Subaru Starlink infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration, and the manual transmission was discontinued with this refresh. That makes the 2018 model especially appealing for shoppers who want modern connectivity, standard AWD, and a well-equipped used sedan without moving into a larger or more expensive vehicle.
There are still a few trade-offs to keep in mind. The Legacy’s strengths are comfort, safety, and traction, but its character is more sensible than exciting, and the source material also points to a cheap-feeling interior and sluggish performance as drawbacks. Even so, for buyers who value secure winter driving, a comfortable ride, and useful technology, the 2018 Subaru Legacy remains a compelling choice.
