(10 reviews)I traded in a Sunbeam Alpine when I purchased this car. The Alpine was a real piece of crap. This car was everything that Alpine was not. It was solid, reliable, maintenance-free, comfortable, handled marvelously and, above all, fun. I took many long trips in it and I was amazed at the comfort and excellent gas mileage it provided. It was definitely a unique car, too. With its "different" looks and one-of-a-kind idle, it attracted a lot of attention in certain parts of the country, especially the Midwest. Of all the cars I've ever owned, this is the one that I regretted selling. Some years later, I met the gentleman that I sold it to at an airport. He told me that he still owned it and that he was really enjoying it. I guess I could at least feel somewhat happier knowing that it went to a good home. Now that I'm retired, I'd be thrilled to find another one like it in good condition, but health problems would prevent me from really enjoying it, but I'll never forget it.
Loved the flexibility, the handling feel, and the economical operation. I also appreciated the ruggedness, and the bulletproof non-boosted brakes. (dual diagonal circuits, before the government mandated them) Worst radio ever (Motorola AM only with no push buttons.. 3 inch speaker built into the unit itself. It was disgusting.) Seats were truly somfortable, with adjustable seatbacks too.
Best car I ever had the opportunity to own. It releases the feeling of unlimited opportunities to do whatever I feel like and every hour spend driving it makes me feel great. This is one of the few left original cars ever build with the passion for making special cars.
It was my first car. To be 76 mod it's performs quiite good. This is my next project. It will be set up with about 160hp. Because of its light weight it will probably be able to beat a lot of modern cars. The handlig is quite good. It will be cool to beat the civic guys with this old car....:P
The best car ever, can bee a little bit small engine, but it will be better, now 38hp, going to bee about 65hp, it only have to pull 890kg. It´s a Rally replica of a sixteys Rally car from Saab
