Used Nissan Pathfinder prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Nissan Pathfinder's current nationwide average price is $29,254 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $28,153 CAD. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — the Nissan Pathfinder is a strong used pick if you want a spacious three-row SUV with broad family appeal and useful capability. The all-generations owner rating is 4.39/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Pathfinder for its roomy cabin, comfortable seating, and versatile character, especially for family use and road trips. Reviewers also frequently highlight its strong performance, good sound system, and practical cargo space.

Expert reviews rate the 2022 and 2023 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs across recent expert-tested years centre on sluggish power delivery, below-average efficiency, and the Rock Creek trim’s noisy all-terrain tyres. Even so, the Pathfinder remains appealing if you want space, comfort, and capability in one package.

Are Nissan Pathfinder models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Pathfinder’s spacious cabin, comfortable seating, and versatile family-friendly character. Across the model years in the data, reviews also repeatedly praise its strong performance and practical everyday usability.

• Owners rate the Nissan Pathfinder between 3.88 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is most worth watching on earlier model years with transmission concerns, so a careful test drive and maintenance review matter.

What should I look for when buying a used Nissan Pathfinder?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy reaches a Natural Resources Canada-estimated 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 9.6 highway, and 10.8 combined for Platinum models. The Rock Creek is estimated at 12 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway, and 11.2 combined.

Which Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder offers these trims:

• Rock Creek: This trim adds the Rock Creek look and all-terrain tyres, plus the 3.5-litre V6 tuned to 295 hp and 270 lb-ft on premium fuel; it suits buyers who want the most rugged appearance and stronger output.
• Platinum: This trim adds the more luxurious cabin treatment, including semi-aniline leather with diamond stitching, a head-up display, and a 13-speaker Bose audio system; it suits buyers who want the most upscale Pathfinder experience.

What Nissan Pathfinder do most buyers choose?

The Nissan Pathfinder years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2025.

These higher-volume model years tend to be popular because they combine newer features, broader availability, and strong shopper interest. More listings also give you more choice on trim, colour, and price.

What is the Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the Pathfinder lineup, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The largest drops are concentrated in older and mid-cycle years, while newer models are also moving lower at a double-digit pace. That creates more room for value-minded buyers to find a well-equipped SUV at a lower entry price.

The 2024, 2014, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Nissan Pathfinder safe?

• 2026: 8/10
• 2025: 9/10
• 2023: 9/10
• 2022: 9/10

Standard driver aids include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, lane-departure warning, and active assists for the lane keeping and blind spot systems (Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention and Intelligent Lane Intervention).

For the safest used buy, the 2022, 2023 and 2025 models all post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Nissan Pathfinder now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −12.31% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −10.07%.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 continues with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, or 295 hp and 270 lb-ft in the Rock Creek with premium fuel, and fuel economy reaches 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 9.6 highway, and 10.8 combined for Platinum models.
• Tech: Every Pathfinder gets a wider 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Qi2 wireless charging.
• Safety: Invisible Hood View is newly standard in Canada, and Front Wide View adds a 180-degree front camera view.
• Starting price: In Canada, the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder starts at $58,197 CAD for the Rock Creek trim.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
