What should I look for when buying a used Mitsubishi Outlander?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Mitsubishi’s Super All-wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system is standard across all trims.
• Infotainment: Every Outlander gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander offers these trims:

• ES: Standard S-AWC all-wheel drive and the core Outlander package make this the entry point for shoppers who want the model’s space and everyday usability.
• SE: Adds more equipment while staying close to the value end of the range, making it a sensible step up for many buyers.
• LE: Adds adaptive cruise control, so it suits shoppers who want more driver-assistance convenience.
• SEL: Brings a richer feature set for buyers who want a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top.
• GT: Adds lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability.
• GT Premium: The best-equipped choice, with quilted leather seats, soft-touch surfaces, a 12-speaker, 1,650-watt Yamaha sound system, a digital gauge cluster, a rear camera mirror, and a head-up display.

What Mitsubishi Outlander do most buyers choose?

The Mitsubishi Outlander years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can improve your odds of finding the right trim, colour, and price. They also tend to attract the broadest mix of buyers, so you’ll often see a healthy spread of condition and equipment levels.

What is the Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

Most model years in the table are posting double-digit price declines, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want stronger value. The pattern also shows that newer examples are not immune to sharp drops, while a few years are falling by a smaller amount and therefore retaining more of their current value.

The 2024, 2018, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

• 2025: 7/10
• 2022: 8/10

For 2025, Mitsubishi’s safety content highlights blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, rear emergency braking, and lane departure warning at the base level, with adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist available on higher trims.

For the safest used buy, the 2022 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Mitsubishi Outlander now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −18.27% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −4.87%.

• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $34,008 CAD. The Mitsubishi Outlander offers a practical seven-seat layout that gives you extra flexibility for family duty and everyday hauling.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest Outlander pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, and it returns 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres combined.
• Tech: The latest model adds a new Yamaha premium sound system and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: The latest model adds adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and front parking sensors.
• Starting price: The latest Outlander starts at $38,394 CAD.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
