What should I look for when buying a used Mitsubishi Outlander?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Mitsubishi’s advanced driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, rear emergency braking, and lane departure warning, with adaptive cruise control on the LE and lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability on the GT grade.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 Outlander gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander offers these trims:

• ES: The entry trim gives you the standard S-AWC all-wheel drive system and the 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making it the value-focused starting point.
• SE: This trim builds on the ES with added equipment as you move up the range, while keeping the core Outlander formula of standard AWD and a modern cabin.
• LE: This is the best-value trim if you want a meaningful safety upgrade, because it adds adaptive cruise control.
• SEL: This trim adds more comfort and convenience equipment as you move closer to the upper end of the lineup.
• GT: This trim brings lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability.
• GT Premium: This top trim adds quilted leather seats, plenty of soft-touch surfaces, a 12-speaker, 1,650-watt Yamaha sound system, a rear camera mirror, and a head up display.

What Mitsubishi Outlander do most buyers choose?

The Mitsubishi Outlander years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can help you find the right trim, colour, and price. They also tend to attract more attention from shoppers, which is why they often become the most popular used picks.

What is the Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

Most model years in the Outlander lineup are down by double digits year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want stronger value. The newer years are still seeing meaningful price drops, while the smallest declines are concentrated in the more recent models. That pattern gives you several opportunities to buy into the lineup at a lower price than a year ago.

The 2024, 2016, and 2019 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

• 2025: 7/10
• 2022: 8/10

Mitsubishi’s safety package on the 2025 Outlander includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, rear emergency braking, and lane departure warning, with additional driver-assistance features on higher trims.

For the safest used buy, the 2022 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.
