What should I look for when buying a used Mitsubishi Outlander?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Mitsubishi’s driver-assistance suite includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, rear emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control on the LE, and lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability on the GT grade.
• Infotainment: Every Outlander gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander offers these trims:

• ES: The entry trim starts the lineup and gives you the standard S-AWC all-wheel drive system, the 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Yamaha premium sound system.
• SE: This trim builds on the ES with more equipment while keeping the same core comfort, tech, and all-wheel-drive setup.
• LE: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger safety package, since it adds adaptive cruise control.
• SEL: This trim moves you further up the range with more premium features and a more upscale feel.
• GT: This trim adds lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability.
• GT Premium: This top trim adds quilted leather seats, plenty of soft-touch surfaces, a 12-speaker, 1,650-watt Yamaha sound system, a rear camera mirror, and a head-up display.

What Mitsubishi Outlander do most buyers choose?

The Mitsubishi Outlander years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can make it simpler to find the right colour, trim, and price. They also tend to attract the most attention from used buyers because newer model years usually combine broader availability with more up-to-date features.

What is the Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it points to softer pricing across much of the lineup. The biggest drops are concentrated in the newer and older years alike, while a few recent models are falling less sharply than the rest.

The 2024, 2016, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

• 2025: 7/10
• 2022: 8/10

For the safest used buy, the 2022 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Mitsubishi Outlander now or wait for the next model?

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest model pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, and it also offers a more powerful plug-in hybrid with 248 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.
