What should I look for when buying a used Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Driver Assistance Package with adaptive cruise control, lane keep and centring assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking assist, and Active Emergency Stop Assist.

Which Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE offers these trims:

• GLE 450e: Adds plug-in hybrid capability and an estimated 79 kilometres of electric-only range.
• AMG GLE 63 S Coupe: The performance flagship, with a hand-built twin-turbo V8 engine and the most expensive positioning in the range.

What Mercedes-Benz GLE do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz GLE years with the most listings are 2023, 2022, and 2025.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, equipment, and price. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and more accessible pricing.

What is the Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

Most model years are showing meaningful year-over-year price declines, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The steepest drops are concentrated in the newer and mid-cycle years, while the older models are changing by smaller amounts. That pattern suggests there are still opportunities to find value across the range, especially if you’re flexible on model year and trim.

The 2016, 2017, and 2019 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• 2025: 8/10
• 2023: 8/10
• 2022: 10/10
• 2021: 10/10

The 2026 GLE includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a safe exit assist system, and automatic high-beam headlights as standard.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 and 2022 models both post the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

• Tech: The latest model brings MBUX on a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
