What should I look for when buying a used Mazda CX-90?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Mazda’s standard driver-assistance suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.
• Infotainment: The CX-90’s infotainment screen is touch-sensitive only when you’re using wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, while the native Mazda Connect platform uses the knob and buttons on the centre console.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada rating is 9.3 litres per 100 kilometres combined with the standard output engine and 9.5 L/100 km combined with the high-output version. The available plug-in hybrid powertrain is rated at 42 kilometres of electric range and 9.4 L/100 km combined once the battery is depleted.

Which Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 offers these trims:

• GS-L: A strong starting point that gives you the CX-90’s premium design, standard all-wheel drive, and the core family-SUV character at the lowest entry point.
• GS: Adds more equipment while staying close to the value end of the range, making it a sensible pick if you want a well-equipped CX-90 without moving too far up the ladder.
• GT: A balanced choice that adds a more upscale feel and is a good-value trim for many shoppers.
• GT-P: The best-value trim if you want the high-output 3.3 Turbo, since this trim brings the stronger engine and a more performance-focused setup.
• Signature: The most luxurious choice, with the richest materials and the most premium presentation for buyers who want the CX-90 at its most upscale.

What Mazda CX-90 do most buyers choose?

The Mazda CX-90 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choice, more pricing competition, and a better chance of finding the trim and condition you want. They also tend to be the easiest years to compare side by side because there are more examples on the market.

What is the Mazda CX-90's resale value?

Both model years show notable year-over-year price declines, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The larger drop on the newer year suggests recent examples have become more accessible, while the older year has also moved down meaningfully. That creates a useful buying window if you want a newer CX-90 without paying close to original pricing.

The 2024 and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mazda CX-90 safe?

Mazda’s standard driver-assistance suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.
