What should I look for when buying a used Mazda CX-50?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid returns 6.2 litres per 100 kilometres in combined city and highway driving, compared with the standard engine's 8.9 L/100 km combined and the turbo’s 9.4 L/100 km combined.
• Infotainment: The 10.25-inch horizontal infotainment system uses a centre-console dial controller, and all CX-50 models come standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety package: All CX-50 models come with frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Which Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mazda CX-50 offers these trims:

• GS-L: The base hybrid trim brings the 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain and is the best-value starting point if you want the new hybrid efficiency story.
• GT: This higher trim adds the 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and a more upscale equipment mix for shoppers who want a richer cabin experience.

What Mazda CX-50 do most buyers choose?

The Mazda CX-50 years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Higher-listing model years usually give you more choice in colour, trim, mileage, and condition, which can make it easier to compare similar examples and find a better deal. They also tend to be the years shoppers cross-shop most often, so pricing and equipment combinations are usually easier to benchmark.

What is the Mazda CX-50's resale value?

Prices are moving lower across all three model years shown, which is good news if you are shopping used. The declines are sizeable, especially for the older recent model years, so you may find more room to negotiate than you would in a rising-price market. The pattern also suggests that newer examples are still adjusting downward, which can create opportunities if you are flexible on trim and mileage.

The 2025, 2023, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mazda CX-50 safe?

• 2025: 7/10
• 2024: 8/10
• 2023: 9/10

All CX-50 models come with driver assistance features including frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

For the safest used buy, the 2023 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
