Which Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers these trims:

• Laredo: The entry trim keeps the Pentastar 3.6-litre V6, eight-speed automatic, and standard 4WD, making it the starting point for buyers who want the Grand Cherokee formula at the lowest rung.
• Laredo X: This trim also stays with the Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 and eight-speed automatic, while adding the expected step up from the base Laredo in the 2026 lineup.
• Altitude: This trim adds leatherette upholstery and sits in the middle of the range for shoppers who want a more polished cabin without moving to the upper luxury trims.
• Limited: This trim adds leatherette upholstery and is a strong value choice for buyers who want a more upscale feel while staying below the premium end of the lineup.
• 85th Anniversary: This trim adds leatherette upholstery and commemorative positioning, giving you a more distinctive mid-range choice.
• Limited Reserve: This trim adds genuine leather upholstery and is the best-value pick if you want a more premium cabin and stronger overall equipment.
• Summit: This trim adds genuine leather upholstery, available height-adjustable air suspension, a more sophisticated Quadra-Drive II 4WD system with a two-speed transfer case, and the most upscale equipment in the lineup.

What Jeep Grand Cherokee do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee years with the most listings are 2022, 2020, and 2021.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a broad mix of availability, pricing, and equipment choices. They also sit in the part of the lineup where many shoppers can find newer features without moving all the way to the highest-priced examples.

What is the Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which creates more room for used buyers to find value. The newer models are also seeing meaningful price movement, while a few older years are changing less sharply.

The 2014, 2023, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest model pairs a Hurricane 4 Turbo with 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while the Pentastar V6 produces 293 hp and 260 lb-ft, and Jeep expects fuel economy as low as 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres combined.
• Tech: The latest model adds a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen on higher trims, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.2-inch front-passenger touchscreen on the Summit.
• Safety: The latest model adds Active Drive Assist improvements for smoother transitions between automation levels, along with standard adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
