What should I look for when buying a used Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist; starting with the XRT trim level, the Santa Cruz features an intersection collision braking system, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adjustment for curves.
• Infotainment: a sophisticated 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluelink connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Preferred and Ultimate trims see fuel economy ratings of 10.7 litres per 100 kilometres combined. The XRT is the least efficient version of the Santa Cruz at 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which Hyundai Santa Cruz trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz offers these trims:

• Preferred: The entry trim brings the turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and standard all-wheel drive, making it the starting point if you want the Santa Cruz’s core capability and everyday versatility.
• XRT: This trim adds the improved approach angle, standard all-terrain tires, blind-spot cameras, a surround-view camera system, and adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adjustment for curves; it suits you if you want the off-road-flavoured version.
• Ultimate: This is the best-value trim if you want the most complete Santa Cruz experience, adding Highway Driving Assist, lane-centring assist, wireless smartphone charging, and the most advanced tech and convenience features in the lineup.

What Hyundai Santa Cruz do most buyers choose?

The Hyundai Santa Cruz years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Higher-volume model years tend to draw more shopper attention because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right colour, trim, and price. They also usually make it easier to shop for a deal without waiting for a rare listing to appear.

What is the Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the lineup, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The declines are all double-digit, so recent model years have become meaningfully more affordable over the past year. The newest years have seen the smallest drops, which helps support their stronger resale position.

The 2025, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
