Used Honda HR-V for Sale nearSydney, NS

How much does the Honda HR-V cost in today's market?

Used Honda HR-V prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Honda HR-V's current nationwide average price is $26,196 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $25,366 CAD. Recently, prices have come down for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda HR-V a good car?

Yes — the Honda HR-V is a strong used pick if you want a practical subcompact SUV with broad appeal and a reputation for everyday usefulness. The all-generations owner rating is 4.49/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the HR-V for its comfort, smooth ride, and roomy interior, and they also tend to value its versatility and user-friendly features. Safety technology and easy-to-use gadgets come up often as recurring positives, especially in newer model years.

Expert reviews rate the 2023 and 2026 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are modest acceleration, fuel economy that trails some rivals, and, in some recent years, a back seat that feels less comfortable than the rest of the cabin. Even so, the HR-V’s mix of practicality, safety, and value keeps it appealing for used buyers.

32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Honda HR-V models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the HR-V’s comfort, practicality, and everyday usability as major strengths. The model’s reputation for reliability also comes through clearly in owner feedback, especially in years where the cabin space, smooth ride, and sensible layout stand out.

• Owners rate the Honda HR-V between 4.0 and 4.73 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally manageable, but older examples deserve a careful inspection of the transmission, infotainment behaviour, and overall maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda HR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing, with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist, and automatic high-beam headlights.
• Infotainment: a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a wireless smartphone charger.
• Fuel efficiency: official Natural Resources Canada ratings say the HR-V will burn 8.3 litres per 100 kilometres in combined city and highway driving with front-wheel drive (FWD) or 8.7 L/100 km combined with AWD.

Which Honda HR-V trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda HR-V offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim gives you the HR-V’s core practicality and is the least expensive way into the lineup; adding AWD costs extra.
• Sport: This trim adds AWD as standard, plus a 17-inch grey wheel design and Boost Blue paint availability.
• EX-L: The best-value trim for shoppers who want the most upscale cabin, with genuine leather, perforated surfaces, Z-pattern stitching, front footwell lighting, silver steering wheel spokes, and the most complete equipment list.

What Honda HR-V do most buyers choose?

The Honda HR-V years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can make it simpler to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also often line up with the model years that attract the broadest mix of shoppers looking for newer features and strong value.

What is the Honda HR-V's resale value?

Most HR-V model years are down year over year, and several have posted double-digit declines. That pattern is helpful for used buyers because it opens up more room to find value, especially in recent model years. The smallest drops are concentrated in the newer end of the range, which suggests those versions are softening more gradually than the older ones.

The 2026, 2018, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Honda HR-V safe?

• 2026: 6/10
• 2023: 8/10

Honda equips every HR-V with Honda Sensing, a collection of driver assist features.

For the safest used buy, the 2023 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Honda HR-V now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Honda installs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine under the HR-V’s hood. It produces 158 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 138 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm in a vehicle that weighs up to 1,510 kilograms (3,336 pounds).
• Tech: For 2026, Honda increased the standard touchscreen size from 7 to 9 inches and installed a faster processor to make the screen more responsive to inputs.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
