Are Chevrolet Equinox models reliable?

What should I look for when buying a used Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist
• Infotainment: 11-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in apps, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada-rated 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres combined (9.2 city, 8.1 highway); AWD models are rated at 8.9 and 9.6 L/100 km respectively in the combined and city categories and the same 8.1 on the highway.

Which Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Equinox offers these trims:

• LT: The entry trim brings standard chrome grille mesh, 17-inch wheels, cloth seats, and the core tech and safety setup; it suits buyers who want the most accessible path into the lineup.
• Activ: This trim adds a more prominent lower front fascia, more chrome trim, all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, unique microfibre and Evotex seats, and standard AWD; it is the best fit if you want the most rugged-looking version.
• RS: This trim adds more black trim, a wider grille, standard 19-inch wheels, Evotex upholstery with red stitching, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and standard AWD; it suits shoppers who want the sportiest appearance.

What Chevrolet Equinox do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Equinox years with the most listings are 2025, 2023, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of newer features, broad availability, and familiar pricing. More listings also give you more choice on colour, trim, and equipment.

What is the Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

Most Equinox model years are down by double digits year over year, which is good news if you are shopping used and want stronger value. The steepest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples have moved down by smaller amounts. That pattern gives you plenty of room to compare trims and equipment without paying close to original pricing.

The 2016, 2015, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
