What should I look for when buying a used Audi Q7?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Q7 with the 55 TFSI power plant at 13.0 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 10.0 on the highway, and 11.7 combined. If you’re looking for better fuel economy out of the Audi, you’ll have to jump down to the smaller engine with its 12.0 L/100 km city, 9.2 highway, and 10.7 combined.
• Infotainment: Audi’s Multi Media Interface (MMI) infotainment system is housed on a 10.1-inch centre screen with a smaller screen below for HVAC controls, and wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto runs on the main screen.
• Safety package: The 2025 Q7 has all the advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) you’d expect in a luxury SUV, like blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, cruise control, and adaptive cruise control on upper trims.

Which Audi Q7 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Audi Q7 offers these trims:

• Q7: The base trim gives you the starting point for the lineup, and the best-value approach is to pair it with the more potent engine.
• Progressiv: This trim adds the 55 TFSI engine, which is standard here and brings stronger performance.
• Technik: The top trim adds the most equipment and suits you if you want the most fully loaded Q7.

What Audi Q7 do most buyers choose?

The Audi Q7 years with the most listings are 2018, 2022, and 2017.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more choice at a range of price points, which makes it easier to find the right mix of features and value. They also tend to attract more shoppers because the Q7’s core strengths — comfort, space, and premium feel — show up clearly in those model years.

What is the Audi Q7's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used. The newer years show the largest dollar prices, but they also post double-digit declines, so recent-model buyers may find more room to negotiate. The smallest changes are concentrated in the oldest and newest years listed, which suggests those examples have been moving more steadily.

The 2015, 2014, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Audi Q7 safe?

• 2025: 6/10
• 2020: 8/10

The 2025 Q7 includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, cruise control, and adaptive cruise control on upper trims.

For the safest used buy, the 2020 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

• Tech: Audi’s Multi Media Interface (MMI) infotainment system is housed on a 10.1-inch centre screen with a smaller screen below for HVAC controls, and new for this year is the Audi App Store, offering downloads of third-party programs like Spotify, YouTube, and Amazon Music.
