New & Used 2026 Toyota RAV4 for Sale near South Glengarry, ON

Is the 2026 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 earns an 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Toyota’s redesign gives you more power and greater efficiency without abandoning the RAV4’s core appeal. You get three distinct design themes, two powertrain and drivetrain options, and five trim levels, so there’s a lot of variety if you want to tailor the SUV to your needs. The standard hybrid setup is a major draw, especially with fuel consumption as low as 5.5 L/100 km combined, and the updated operating system and more standard features should make it feel more modern in daily use.

The trade-offs are that the trim structure may be confusing, and the RAV4’s size has not kept up with rivals.

With 38.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is presented as a continuation of an already strong formula, with Toyota building on an established bestseller rather than starting over. The redesign also brings improvements across the board, including a more responsive operating system and a hybrid drivetrain that is meant to be efficient and easy to live with.

The powertrain is described as beefier and slightly more efficient than before, and the CVT is said to be smoother than ever, with the handoff from motor to engine hardly noticeable in most situations. Toyota also says the redesign should improve structural rigidity, especially at the chassis mounting points and body corners, which supports long-term durability.

Toyota also says the standard hybrid powertrain should save you money over time compared with a gas-only model, including lower fuel costs across ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a more complex hybrid and technology-heavy setup can be costlier to sort out if prior maintenance has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota RAV4?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The five trim levels are spread across three design themes, and the base LE is the most stripped-down version. It gets the standard screens and cloth upholstery, while higher trims add features such as a power driver’s seat, more USB ports, a panoramic sunroof, and extra driver-assistance technology. If you want the best value, the XLE is the trim to focus on because it adds meaningful everyday upgrades without jumping to the top of the range.
• Powertrain: You get a standard hybrid setup with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and three electric motors, plus standard all-wheel drive in Canada. The system is tuned for efficiency and smoothness, and the Woodland trim uses the same hybrid powertrain with all-terrain tyres and extra ground clearance.
• Safety package: Every RAV4 comes with Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert and lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, an emergency stop system, safe exit alert, and an enhanced rearview camera. A driver attention monitor is available on higher grades.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.5-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Toyota’s Arene operating system. A larger 12.9-inch touchscreen is reserved for the top trim levels.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the base LE at 5.5 L/100 km combined, the XLE at 5.7 L/100 km combined, the XSE and Limited at 5.8 L/100 km combined, and the Woodland at 6.2 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 5 trim levels: LE, XLE, Woodland, XSE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the standard hybrid powertrain, all-wheel drive, the digital instrument cluster, the 10.5-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the full safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with a simpler cabin.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds useful everyday upgrades such as 18-inch wheels, a power driver’s seat, and more USB ports. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to target.
• Woodland: Choose this if you want the Rugged look and the extra hardware that comes with it, including all-terrain tyres, a roof rack with cross bars, a tow hitch, and slightly more ground clearance. It is the most style- and utility-focused version, but it also uses more fuel than the other hybrid trims.
• XSE: This trim moves you up to a more upscale and feature-rich setup, and it can be paired with a Technology package that adds a panoramic sunroof, the low-profile shifter, and extra driver-assistance technologies such as lane change assist and traffic jam assist.
• Limited: This is the top trim, and it brings the most premium feel, including the slimmer electric shifter and the larger 12.9-inch touchscreen. It suits you if you want the most advanced and fully equipped RAV4 available.

Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 is standard across the line, while the driver attention monitor is reserved for higher grades.

Is the 2026 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 comes with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features as standard, and Toyota says the redesign should improve the model’s historically strong safety record.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection that senses both moving vehicles and people at intersections, lane departure alert with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, an emergency stop system, safe exit alert, and an enhanced rearview camera with guidelines. A driver attention monitor is available on higher grades.

Toyota also says the redesign should address shortcomings the IIHS found in the outgoing RAV4’s front crash protection, and crash-test results for this generation are still pending.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The 2026 model brings three distinct design themes, a standard hybrid drivetrain, more standard features, and a quicker operating system.

The bottom line: If you want the newest RAV4 with the strongest mix of efficiency, technology, and variety, the 2026 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you can find the right trim and equipment at a better price.
