New & Used 2026 Nissan LEAF for Sale near South Woodslee, ON

Is the 2026 Nissan LEAF a good car?

The 2026 Nissan LEAF earns an 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It brings more range, updated charging hardware, and a more crossover-like design than the outgoing Leaf, while also landing in a segment with plenty of capable rivals. The trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and a cramped back seat. On the market side, 15% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Nissan LEAF reliable?

The 2026 Nissan LEAF’s expert rating includes a 7/10 score for safety and an 8/10 score for cost effectiveness, which points to a well-rounded ownership proposition rather than a high-risk one.

It uses a liquid-cooled battery pack, which is a helpful sign for consistent EV operation, and Nissan Canada backs the battery with an eight-year/160,000-kilometre warranty covering mechanical issues and capacity loss beyond a set amount. The new Leaf also includes a 7.2-kW onboard charger and Plug and Charge compatibility, which should make day-to-day use simpler.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the battery still charges and performs as expected, especially if the car has seen frequent fast charging or heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Nissan LEAF?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S Plus is the most basic version, so you should check whether it has the features you want before stepping up to the SV Plus or Platinum Plus. The higher trims add larger screens, more audio equipment, Google built-in apps, rear USB-C ports, a wireless device charger, and, on the Platinum Plus, V2L capability and more upscale interior touches.
• Powertrain: All Canadian versions use a single-motor front-wheel drive setup with 214 hp and 261 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 75-kWh battery pack. There is no dual-motor all-wheel drive option.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, driver monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system. ProPilot Assist is also standard, but it is a basic version compared with Nissan’s more advanced systems.
• Infotainment: The S Plus gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, while the SV Plus and Platinum Plus use dual 14.3-inch screens. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Google built-in apps are included on the higher trims.
• Range & charging: Range exceeds 400 km on every trim. The S Plus is rated at 488 km, the SV Plus at 463 km, and the Platinum Plus at 417 km. DC fast charging tops out at 150 kW, and Nissan says a 10-80% charge takes 35 minutes. The battery pack is 75 kWh.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car was typically charged, and review whether the battery warranty still has meaningful coverage left. A car that has mostly used home charging is often easier to live with than one that has relied heavily on fast charging.

Which 2026 Nissan LEAF trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan LEAF is offered in 3 trim levels: S Plus, SV Plus, Platinum Plus.

Here's the short version:

• S Plus: This is the value play if you want the longest range, since it is rated at 488 km and still includes the standard safety suite, wireless smartphone integration, and the 12.3-inch display setup. It is the trim to focus on if you want the best range-for-money balance.
• SV Plus: This is the best middle-ground choice if you want a more complete daily-driver experience. It adds the larger 14.3-inch screens, Google built-in apps, rear USB-C ports, and a wireless device charger, while still delivering 463 km of range.
• Platinum Plus: Choose this if you want the most upscale Leaf experience, including the 10-speaker Bose Personal Plus audio system, front headrest speakers, and V2L capability. It has the shortest range of the three at 417 km, so it makes the most sense if equipment matters more to you than maximum distance.

The standard safety package is strong across the lineup, so your decision mostly comes down to range, screen size, and convenience features.
