New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale nearSherwood Park, AB

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns 7.8/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It stands out as the roomiest vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, with three rows of seating for six or seven people and up to 2,400 litres of cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want a large luxury SUV that prioritizes passenger room, comfort, and everyday usability over maximum size or brute capability.

The trade-offs are worth noting: fuel economy is unimpressive, third-row entry and exit are a challenge, and it gives up some cargo space to rivals. Even so, the GLS brings a quiet cabin, refined driving dynamics, and a long list of standard equipment that helps justify its premium positioning. 41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS is presented as a refined, comfortable luxury SUV with a strong standard equipment list and a powertrain that is described as smooth and rewarding in everyday driving. Its turbocharged inline-six is the least powerful engine in the lineup, but it still delivers solid performance, and the standard Airmatic adaptive suspension helps the SUV ride with composure.

The powertrain does show occasional delays in responsiveness and unwanted lurching in Comfort mode, though Sport mode reduces those traits. Mercedes also includes a complimentary one-year subscription to Digital Extras, which adds some ownership value up front.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is a complex, high-end SUV with plenty of technology and luxury hardware, so upkeep can be costly if previous maintenance has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS 450 is the base version, and it already brings a premium interior, standard leather, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, dual 12.3-inch displays, and a strong list of safety and convenience features. Higher trims add more luxury and performance, but the base model is already well equipped.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six with mild-hybrid assist, making 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard 4Matic all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes Mercedes’s Pre-Safe and Crosswind Assist technologies, plus front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, blind spot assist, adaptive headlamps, auto high beams, parking assist, Car-to-X communication, and Exit Warning Assist. Buyers should note that hands-free highway driver assistance is not offered.
• Infotainment: The GLS uses dual 12.3-inch displays with MBUX. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with navigation with augmented reality enhancement and a Burmester surround-sound system with Dolby Atmos technology.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLS 450 is rated at 11.3 litres per 100 kilometres combined, and the test route returned 12.1 L/100 km.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600.

Here's the short version:

• GLS 450: This is the best-value choice if you want the core GLS experience. It already includes the roomy cabin, strong standard technology, and a long list of comfort and safety features, so you do not need to move up the range to get a well-equipped luxury SUV.
• GLS 580: Choose this if you want more performance and are willing to pay for it. It sits above the GLS 450 and is aimed at buyers who want extra power and more upscale presence.
• AMG GLS 63: This is the performance-focused choice in the lineup. It is for you if you want the most aggressive driving character and are shopping for the sportiest GLS.
• Maybach GLS 600: This is the luxury flagship. Pick it if your priority is maximum opulence and you want the most lavish version of the GLS.

The standard safety package is already extensive, so the base GLS 450 is the trim most shoppers should start with unless they specifically want more power or more luxury.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS safe?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Nearly 40 safety and driver assistance systems appear on the standard equipment list, including Mercedes’s Pre-Safe and Crosswind Assist technologies. It also includes front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, blind spot assist, adaptive headlamps, auto high beams, parking assist, Car-to-X communication, and Exit Warning Assist.

One important caveat is that it does not offer hands-free highway driver assistance. The available system is hands-on and uses a touch-sensing steering wheel, so you need to stay engaged behind the wheel.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if:
  • 41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
  • You want a three-row luxury SUV that offers more passenger room and cargo space than any other model in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup, along with a quiet cabin, refined ride, and strong driving dynamics.

The bottom line: If you want the most current GLS with its broad standard equipment list and strong all-around luxury appeal, the 2026 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you can find a better deal on a similarly equipped GLS.
