New & Used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale near Haileybury, ON

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 6.5/10 from our experts. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out in the compact-car class by bringing a cabin that could be mistaken for entry-level luxury fare, plus a spirited driving experience and head-turning styling. That makes it a strong fit if you want a small car with more personality and a more upscale feel than the norm.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the back seat is cramped, and the technology is dated. Even so, the Mazda3’s strong design and fun-to-drive character make it compelling if you value style and driving enjoyment over maximum practicality.

With 33.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a mature, current-generation model that debuted as a 2019 model, and the expert summary says few updates are expected for 2026. Its performance notes also point to a powertrain that does not sound overstressed even when you ask more of it, which is a reassuring sign for everyday use.

The cabin is described as solidly built and free of creaks or squeaks, and the overall package is framed as refined and dependable in day-to-day driving. If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about living with its dated tech and modest base-engine performance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the Mazda3’s upscale design and solid cabin quality, but the higher trims add meaningful equipment such as a larger display, wireless phone integration, and more premium features. The GT also brings the most advanced convenience and driver-assistance upgrades.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, plus an optional Turbo engine on the GT that raises output to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular fuel, or 250 hp and 320 lb-ft with premium fuel. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional on GS and GT models.
• Safety package: All models come with i-Activsense, including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The GT adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses an 8.8-inch display with a dial controller rather than a touchscreen. Higher trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The base-engine sedan is rated at 7.8 L/100 km combined, AWD raises that to 8.1 L/100 km, and the Turbo engine increases it to 8.8 L/100 km combined. The base engine with the available manual averages 8.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 3 trim levels: GX, GS, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Mazda3’s core strengths: stylish design, a refined cabin, and standard i-Activsense safety tech. It makes sense if you want the Mazda feel at the lowest price, but you should expect the most basic tech and the least feature content.
• GS: This is the trim to focus on if you want the best balance of value and equipment. It opens the door to available all-wheel drive and brings you closer to the Mazda3’s more premium feel without jumping all the way to the top model.
• GT: This is the most complete Mazda3, adding the strongest mix of convenience, tech, and driver-assistance features, plus the optional Turbo engine and available AWD. It is the right pick if you want the most upscale and most capable version.

The GT also gets the extra safety and convenience features noted in the safety content, including adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and focus on the right trim and equipment mix.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 118 listings available.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 sedan earns five-star ratings in all NHTSA evaluations, and the IIHS gives it its highest Good scores in all crash tests, along with a Top Safety Pick+ award.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

All 2026 Mazda3 models come standard with i-Activsense, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The GT adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.

One caveat from testing is that the adaptive cruise control reacted too slowly to slowing traffic, which led to harder braking than ideal and occasional collision warnings.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The current-generation Mazda3 still delivers a luxury-like cabin and a spirited drive.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds Amazon Alexa Built-in on GT and higher trims.

The bottom line: The 2026 is the better choice if you want the freshest used example of this generation and you value style, driving enjoyment, and available AWD. If you are shopping more on features-per-dollar, the 2025 can still be worth a look, especially if you find the right GT or higher trim with the tech you want.
