New & Used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearComox, BC

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out in the compact-car class by bringing a cabin that could easily be mistaken for entry-level luxury fare, plus a spirited driving experience and head-turning styling. That makes it a strong fit if you want a small car with more personality and a more upscale feel than the norm.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the back seat is cramped, and the technology is dated. Even so, the Mazda3 remains compelling if you value style and driving enjoyment over maximum practicality.

32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a polished, well-built compact car with a solid underlying construction and no creaks or squeaks. Its standard safety and driver-assistance suite is broad, and the available all-wheel drive adds confidence in poor weather.

Its dependability story is helped by the fact that the infotainment system is simple to use and the powertrain lineup is straightforward. The base engine is described as adequately powered, and the Turbo powertrain is the stronger choice if you want more confident acceleration.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about living with the Mazda3’s age-related compromises in technology and rear-seat space.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the Mazda3’s upscale design and standard safety equipment, but higher trims add meaningful upgrades such as a larger touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and more premium cabin features.
• Powertrain: You can choose between the standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder and the Turbo engine on the GT trim. The base engine is adequate but not especially quick, while the Turbo delivers much stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: All models include i-Activsense with forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The GT adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The standard 8.8-inch display is controlled by a dial rather than touch input. Higher trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 7.8 L/100 km combined, 8.8 L/100 km in city driving, and 6.6 L/100 km on the highway. With AWD, the combined rating rises to 8.1 L/100 km, and the Turbo engine is rated at 8.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 3 trim levels: GX, GS, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Mazda3’s core strengths: stylish design, standard i-Activsense safety tech, and the same basic driving character as the rest of the range. It makes sense if you want the Mazda3 experience at the lowest price.
• GS: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it opens the door to available all-wheel drive and adds more flexibility without jumping all the way to the top trim. If you want the Mazda3’s character with a better balance of equipment and price, start here.
• GT: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete Mazda3. It adds the strongest feature set, including the larger touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, and extra safety and convenience equipment. It is also the trim that can be paired with the Turbo engine.

The GT also gets the extra safety equipment noted above, while the lower trims stick with the standard i-Activsense package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and focus on the right trim and equipment.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 123 listings available.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The Mazda3 sedan was awarded a five-out-of-five-star rating in all NHTSA evaluations, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it its highest Good score in all crash tests, along with a Top Safety Pick+ award.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

All 2026 Mazda3 models come standard with i-Activsense, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The GT adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control showed delayed reactions to slowing traffic in testing, which can make highway following feel less smooth than you might expect.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The Mazda3 still delivers a cabin that feels upscale, plus a spirited driving experience and head-turning style.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It blends quality, refinement, safety, and enjoyable driving dynamics.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Mazda3 currently in this comparison, the 2026 is the straightforward pick. If you are shopping mainly on value, the 2025 remains worth a look because it keeps the same core strengths and may offer a more attractive used price.
