New & Used 2026 Mazda CX-90 for Sale near Palmerston, ON

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

Yes — you rated it 5/5, and our experts give it 6/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is a three-row midsize crossover SUV that aims to blend family usefulness with a more engaging driving experience. It has a premium look and feel, and its standard gasoline powertrain is fairly fuel efficient. Mazda also offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain, giving you another option if you want something beyond the standard setup.

What stands out most is how strongly it leans into style and handling for a vehicle in this class. The trade-offs are worth noting, though, because the powertrain is described as unrefined, the third row is cramped, and the technology can be unintuitive.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-90 is presented as a premium-feeling three-row SUV with solid safety ratings and a fairly fuel-efficient standard gasoline powertrain. The expert review also describes the powertrain as clunky and uneven at times, especially shortly after starting the engine and in chilly weather, which is worth keeping in mind if you want a used example that feels polished in daily driving.

Mazda’s i-Stop feature can also catch you off guard because it may shut the engine off when you’re coasting to a stop, then create a brief delay when you need to move again. Mazda says the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is living with a powertrain and stop-start system that can feel less refined than the rest of the vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda CX-90?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GS trim gets a 10.25-inch infotainment display, text messaging support, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while higher trims move to a 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, and wireless charging. The GT grade adds front parking sensors, front cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system with trailer hitch views.
• Powertrain: The standard mild-hybrid inline-six uses an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive, while the plug-in hybrid pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a 68-kilowatt electric motor and a 17.8-kWh battery pack. The standard engine is described as fairly fuel efficient, but the power delivery can feel uneven.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. All but the base GS trim add safe exit assist, rear parking sensors, and Mazda’s Cruise & Traffic Support technology.
• Infotainment: The base GS has a 10.25-inch display with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other trims get a 12.3-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. Amazon Alexa compatibility starts at the GT trim, but it requires an internet connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada rating for the standard-output and high-output engines is 9.4 and 9.5 litres per 100 kilometres respectively. On the expert fuel economy loop, the high-output test vehicle averaged 9.2 L/100 km with i-Stop engaged.

Which 2026 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 5 trim levels: GS, GS-L, GT, GT-P, and Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core CX-90 experience with the standard infotainment setup and the full base safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you give up the larger screen and several convenience upgrades.
• GS-L: This is the best-value choice if you want a more complete daily-driver setup without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds the larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, safe exit assist, rear parking sensors, and Cruise & Traffic Support.
• GT: This is the trim to target if you want the most meaningful safety and convenience upgrades, including front parking sensors, front cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and the surround-view camera system with trailer hitch views. It also brings Amazon Alexa compatibility.
• GT-P: This trim builds on the GT with the higher-output version of the mild-hybrid powertrain and active blind spot monitoring. It suits you if you want more performance and added driver-assistance tech.
• Signature: This is the most fully equipped CX-90, adding head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, front cross-traffic automatic braking, post-collision braking, and a see-through surround-view camera feature. It’s the pick if you want the most advanced equipment in the lineup.

The GT-P and higher trim levels also have active blind spot monitoring, while the Signature adds the most advanced safety features in the lineup.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2026 update is minor, focusing on wheel, colour, and trim changes that unify the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the CX-90 with the same core strengths and minor updates, the 2026 is the straightforward choice. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2025 can still make sense because its key appeal is very similar.
