New & Used 2026 Mazda CX-90 for Sale near Markstay, ON

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

Yes — you rate it 5/5, and our experts score it 6.00/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is a three-row midsize crossover SUV that aims to blend family usefulness with a more engaging driving experience. It has a premium look and feel, and its standard gasoline powertrain is fairly fuel efficient. Mazda also offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain, giving you another option if you want something beyond the standard setup.

What stands out most is how strongly it leans into style and handling for a vehicle in this class. The trade-offs are worth noting, though, because the powertrain is described as unrefined, the third row is cramped, and the technology can be unintuitive.

With 36.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-90 is presented as a premium-feeling three-row SUV with solid safety ratings and a fairly fuel-efficient standard gasoline powertrain. Its performance notes point to a vehicle that can be engaging to drive, but also one that can feel clunky and uneven in daily use. Mazda’s cost-effectiveness notes also say the turbocharged six-cylinder engine is surprisingly fuel efficient unless you regularly dig into the power.

The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same refinement and technology issues you notice on a test drive may continue to bother you over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda CX-90?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GS trim gets a 10.25-inch infotainment display, text messaging support, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while other trims move to a larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, and wireless charging. Higher trims also add more convenience and safety equipment, so the base model is the one most likely to feel light on features.
• Powertrain: The standard gasoline setup uses a turbocharged 3.3-litre inline-six with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and idle-stop technology, while the plug-in hybrid pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a 68-kilowatt electric motor and a 17.8-kWh battery pack. The standard engine is fairly fuel efficient, but the powertrain can feel uneven and clunky.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. All but the base GS add safe exit assist, rear parking sensors, and Mazda’s Cruise & Traffic Support technology. GT trims add front parking sensors, front cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system with trailer hitch views, while GT-P and higher add active blind spot monitoring. The Signature adds head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, front cross-traffic automatic braking, post-collision braking, and a see-through camera view.
• Infotainment: The base GS gets a 10.25-inch display with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other trims use a 12.3-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and Amazon Alexa compatibility starting at the GT. The larger display is touch-sensitive only when using smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada rating for the standard-output and high-output engines is 9.4 and 9.5 L/100 km respectively. On the test loop, the high-output vehicle averaged 9.2 L/100 km with i-Stop engaged, and 11.6 L/100 km with i-Stop turned off and Sport mode activated.

Which 2026 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 5 trim levels: GS, GS-L, GT, GT-P, and Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core CX-90 experience with the standard infotainment setup and the full base safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting point, but it is the least richly equipped version.
• GS-L: This is the best-value trim because it adds more of the convenience and technology you will likely want without jumping too far up the range. It is the sweet spot if you want a more complete CX-90 without going all the way to the pricier trims.
• GT: This trim is the first one to add front parking sensors, front cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and the surround-view camera system with trailer hitch views. It is the one to target if parking and towing visibility matter to you.
• GT-P: This trim adds active blind spot monitoring and brings more power from the high-output version of the inline-six. Choose it if you want stronger performance and more advanced safety tech.
• Signature: This is the most luxurious and fully equipped version, with the most advanced safety additions and the most upscale presentation. It suits you if you want the most complete CX-90 and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is strongest on the higher trims, especially GT and above.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 safe?

The CX-90 earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, with four-star ratings for driver and front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. All but the base GS trim have safe exit assist, rear parking sensors, and Mazda’s Cruise & Traffic Support technology. Front parking sensors, front cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system with trailer hitch views come in at the GT grade. GT-P and higher trim levels also have active blind spot monitoring, and the Signature trim adds head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, front cross-traffic automatic braking, post-collision braking, and a see-through feature for the surround-view camera.

One caveat is that the steering assist features are not very sophisticated, and they do not work well in some intersection and rural-road situations.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2026 update is minor, with wheel, colour, and trim changes that unify the lineup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers unusual powertrains and a stylish, premium-feeling cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the CX-90’s core formula, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, the 2025 remains appealing because it delivers the same distinctive character and unusual powertrain choices.
