The RX Hybrid is presented as a refined luxury crossover with a strong reputation for comfort and technology, and its hybrid system is described as working well together with seamless hand-offs between electric and gas propulsion. The powertrain is also framed as a different approach from turbocharged six-cylinder rivals, using hybrid assistance to boost power and cut acceleration times while improving fuel economy.

Lexus also includes a useful three-year Drive Connect subscription with Google points of interest and real-time traffic information, which adds some ownership convenience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX 500h F Sport Performance brings the most aggressive styling, 21-inch wheels, Dark Graphite or Rioja Red leather, a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aluminum pedals, but the base presentation is still more about luxury polish than genuine sport.
• Powertrain: The RX 500h uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with hybrid assistance, a traditional automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. It is strong, but it is not as quick as many rivals, and the hybrid system’s fuel economy advantage is only moderate in real-world use.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and intersection assist, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, and emergency steering assist. Front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard, while automatic parking, remote automatic parking, a surround-view camera system, and traffic jam assist are optional.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch touchscreen, a standard head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Lexus Intelligent Assist voice control, and wireless phone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 8.7 L/100 km in city driving, 8.4 L/100 km on the highway, and 8.6 L/100 km combined. In testing, it averaged 12.8 L/100 km over 200 kilometres of mixed driving.
