CarGurus Analysis: 2026 Lexus RX
Summary
- With 116 currently listed for sale and an average price of $70,378 CAD, 27.6% of 2026 Lexus RX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Why it stands out
The 2026 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that has built its reputation on comfort, refinement, and reliability rather than chasing the sportiest or most opulent formula in the segment. That approach has long been part of the RX’s appeal, and it helps explain why it remains a staple in Lexus’s lineup. It also has a history of strong resale values, which makes it easier to justify as a used purchase even if it tends to cost more than some rivals.
What makes the RX distinctive is how consistently it prioritises everyday usability. Lexus has long focused on what most luxury buyers want, and the RX reflects that with a comfort-first character and a reputation for trouble-free ownership. The model’s long-running success also comes from its broad appeal: it is a luxury SUV that has traditionally been comfortable, reliable, and well suited to buyers who value refinement over off-road ability or towing strength.
For shoppers, the main trade-off is that the RX is not the most powerful or the most adventurous choice in its class. That said, its strengths are exactly what many buyers are looking for: a polished driving experience, strong reliability, and solid value retention.

Is the 2026 Lexus RX a good car?
The 2026 Lexus RX is a strong used luxury SUV choice if you want comfort, efficiency, and a premium feel rather than a sporty driving experience. Lexus built the RX around refinement and reliability, and this model continues that formula with a focus on everyday usability, standard safety equipment, and strong fuel economy in hybrid form.
It is especially appealing if you want a luxury SUV that aims to be dependable and easy to live with. The RX 350h is the fuel-efficiency leader at 6.5 L/100 km combined, and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the range. The RX also received strong crash-test results from both NHTSA and IIHS, which adds to its appeal for family buyers.
The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind. Lexus prioritizes comfort over performance, so even the sportier versions are not especially sporty, and the styling may not suit everyone.
With 23.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2026 Lexus RX reliable?
The 2026 Lexus RX is built around Lexus’s long-standing reputation for comfort and reliability, and that is one of the main reasons it stands out in the used luxury SUV market. It is designed to be refined and dependable rather than flashy or overtly sporty, which is exactly the kind of ownership experience many used buyers want.
That reliability-focused character is reinforced by the RX’s strong resale reputation and its emphasis on standard safety and efficiency. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is generally lower than you might expect from a luxury SUV, especially if you choose a well-maintained example.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Lexus RX?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market for the 2026 Lexus RX, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings before you commit.
- Deal availability: 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 109 listings available.

- 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
The bottom line: The 2026 Lexus RX is a sensible choice if you want the latest version of this comfort-first luxury SUV and value its blend of refinement, efficiency, and standard safety equipment.
