New & Used 2026 Lexus IS for Sale near Gooderham, ON

Is the 2026 Lexus IS a good car?

The 2026 Lexus IS earns a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

It’s a strong choice if you want a compact luxury sports sedan that feels polished and rewarding to drive. Lexus refreshed the IS for 2026 with updated digital instrumentation, infotainment, driver-assistance tech, exterior and interior changes, plus steering and suspension revisions. The result is a car that feels quick, refined, and genuinely enjoyable on a winding road.

The trade-offs are clear: fuel economy is poor, and cargo space is limited. The lineup is also simplified for Canada, with the V6-powered IS 350 as the only model.

34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you’ll still want to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2026 Lexus IS is described as having a long-standing reputation for reliability, and the expert verdict says it boasts that reputation while also delivering quality and enjoyable driving dynamics.

Its powertrain is presented as smooth and refined, and the car’s overall character is framed as one that should last a long time with proper maintenance. The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that Lexus gives buyers two complimentary scheduled maintenance visits at one and six months.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is not mechanical drama so much as the combination of fuel costs and the possibility that a well-equipped example may have more technology to inspect and verify.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Lexus IS?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The IS 350 comes as the F Sport Design, with F Sport 2 and F Sport 3 packages above it, plus a limited-production Special Appearance Package. The base model gets the redesigned cabin with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen, while the higher packages sharpen the performance focus. If you want the best-value setup, the F Sport Design is the one to start with.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with 311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and standard AWD. Fuel consumption is rated at 12.4 L/100 km in city driving, 8.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.8 L/100 km combined.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pedestrian/cyclist/motorcyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, intersection/oncoming vehicle assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring assist, evasive steering assist, traffic sign recognition, and high beam assist. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard, while surround-view camera, parking assistance with automatic braking, lane change assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist are available.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses two 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the latest Lexus Interface software is built in. OTA capability is not stated.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the IS at 12.4 L/100 km city, 8.9 L/100 km highway, and 10.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Lexus IS trim should I buy?

The 2026 Lexus IS is offered in 4 trim levels: F Sport Design, F Sport 2, F Sport 3, and Special Appearance Package.

Here's the short version:

• F Sport Design: This is the best-value choice if you want the updated IS experience without paying for the more expensive appearance and chassis upgrades. You still get the 3.5-litre V6, standard AWD, the new 12.3-inch displays, wireless smartphone integration, and the standard safety suite.
• F Sport 2: Choose this if you want a step up in presentation and equipment while staying close to the core IS formula. It keeps the same mechanical setup as the F Sport Design, so the decision here is mostly about how much extra you want to spend for the added package content.
• F Sport 3: This is the one to target if you want the most engaging version of the IS 350. It adds a performance-tuned adaptive suspension, Sport+ drive mode, and forged aluminium wheels that reduce unsprung weight.
• Special Appearance Package: Pick this only if you want the limited-production look and the same performance-oriented hardware additions as the F Sport 3. It is the most exclusive version, but not the obvious value play.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, though available features such as surround-view camera, parking assistance with automatic braking, lane change assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist remain optional.

Is the 2026 Lexus IS safe?

The Lexus IS has incomplete safety ratings. The IIHS had only published partial results, including a Marginal score in the moderate overlap front crash test, Good or Acceptable headlight ratings depending on trim level, and Good ratings for front crash prevention tech in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian testing.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pedestrian/cyclist/motorcyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, intersection/oncoming vehicle assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring assist, evasive steering assist, traffic sign recognition, and high beam assist. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

There are a few caveats to keep in mind. The available Proactive Driving Assist and automatic speed reduction features may feel intrusive to some drivers, and the incomplete crash-test picture means you should weigh the standard equipment carefully against the published results.

Should I buy a 2026 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Lexus refreshed the IS for 2026 with updated digital instrumentation, infotainment, driver-assistance technology, and a refined driving experience.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern version of the IS with the strongest mix of tech, refinement, and driving enjoyment, the 2026 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but you’ll be giving up some of the 2026 updates that make this version feel more current.
