Used 2026 Kia Sportage for Sale nearKelowna, BC

Is the 2026 Kia Sportage a good car?

The 2026 Kia Sportage earns a 7.33/10 expert rating, and it stands out as a compact crossover SUV that has grown into a serious contender in its segment. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

For 2026, revised styling gives it a more truck-like look, and the overall impression is one of competent execution. Its strongest appeal lies in its stylish design, impressive technology, and great safety ratings, which help it feel modern and well rounded.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the X-Pro’s underwhelming value proposition is a drawback for shoppers who want more excitement or more equipment for the money.

For buyers who want a polished look, useful technology, and a strong safety profile in a mainstream crossover, the Sportage makes a strong case for itself. 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Kia Sportage reliable?

The 2026 Kia Sportage is presented as a competent, well-rounded compact crossover with a strong safety profile and a long-running nameplate that has matured over time. Its gas powertrain is described as doing just fine, and the hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains are noted as more refined thanks to their turbocharged and electrified setups.

The Sportage also benefits from a strong warranty in Canada, which helps support long-term ownership confidence. For used buyers, the main risk is that a higher-mileage example may reflect the usual wear-and-tear concerns of a mainstream crossover, so condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Kia Sportage?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X-Line models are off-road appearance packages with different front and rear bumpers, a tread-like stitching pattern for the SynTex artificial leather upholstery, and all-season tires on 19-inch wheels. The EX Premium trim also has 19-inch wheels, while other trims come with 17-inch or 18-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions use a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor, with the hybrid rated at 232 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque and the plug-in hybrid at 268 hp.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and lane following assist. Higher trim levels also feature the Highway Driving Assist system, which adds automated lane centring. Front and rear parking sensors are available, along with a surround-view camera system and the blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard along with SiriusXM satellite radio. Wireless phone charging is standard on all but the base LX trim level. A Harman Kardon premium audio system is standard on X-Line Limited along with a head-up display and digital key functionality.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the non-hybrid Sportage at 8.3 litres per 100 kilometres combined with FWD and 8.9 L/100 km combined with AWD. The Sportage Hybrid is rated at 6.7 L/100 km combined, and the plug-in hybrid gets up to 53 kilometres of all-electric driving.

Which 2026 Kia Sportage trim should I buy?

The 2026 Kia Sportage is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, LX AWD, X-Line, EX, EX Premium, and X-Line Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point and the cheapest way into the Sportage, with the standard 2.5-litre gas engine and front-wheel drive. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with the base setup.
• LX AWD: This is the value pick if you want all-wheel drive without moving too far up the range. It keeps the core Sportage formula intact while adding traction for Canadian conditions.
• X-Line: This trim is for buyers who want the more rugged-looking appearance package and the added visual distinction of the X-Line treatment.
• EX: This is the trim to watch if you want a more balanced mix of equipment and value, since it sits above the base models without jumping all the way to the more expensive feature-heavy versions.
• EX Premium: This trim adds 19-inch wheels and moves the Sportage closer to a more upscale feel, making it a good choice if you want more presence without going all the way to the top.
• X-Line Limited: This is the most feature-rich version, with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the Harman Kardon premium audio system, head-up display, and digital key functionality. It suits you best if you want the most technology and convenience.

Higher trim levels also feature the Highway Driving Assist system, and the surround-view camera system and blind-spot view monitor are available.
