Why it stands out

The 2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty stands out because it blends serious heavy-duty capability with a level of comfort and technology that makes it easier to live with every day. Ford redesigned this generation from the ground up, and the truck now rides on its own beefy frame while borrowing some style, cab, and interior elements from the circa-2021 F-150. It also brings a broad spread of powertrains, starting with a 6.8-litre gas V8, continuing with the 7.3-litre “Godzilla” V8 on higher trims, and offering a high-output 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 with 1,200 pound-feet of torque.

Capability remains the F-250’s defining trait. With the high-output turbodiesel, the single-rear-wheel truck can tow up to 9,980 kilograms with a conventional hitch or 10,430 kilograms with a gooseneck hitch, while payload capacity ranges from around 770 kilograms to over 1,630 kilograms. Even the least capable version can still tow more than 6,350 kilograms with a conventional hitch. Ford also made four-wheel drive the default on most versions, kept the regular, SuperCab, and crew cab body styles with 6.75- or 8-foot beds, and added useful work-focused details such as C-Clamp lighting and functional hood vents.

The cabin and feature set are a major part of the appeal. Even the base model gets an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, while higher trims can have a 12.0-inch display, a configurable 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 5G WiFi hotspot. Ford also added practical tools such as onboard scales, a trailer-aware surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control with lane centring, trailer navigation, tailgate-down backup cameras and sensing units, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. Buyers looking for a more rugged personality can also choose the Tremor package, which adds off-road hardware including an electronically locking rear differential, a front limited-slip differential, off-road shocks, skid plates, 35-inch all-terrain tyres, and trail and rock crawl control.
