New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Trax for Sale near Southwold, ON

How much does the 2026 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 5.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 427 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax earns an expert rating of 7.7/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It fits a useful role in Chevrolet’s lineup as the brand’s cheapest new car in Canada, and it blends compact-car and crossover traits in a way that makes it feel practical without being plain. The Trax is also described as stylish, with great handling and impressive technology, which helps it stand out among budget-minded small SUVs.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and the ergonomic design is called out as a weakness. Even so, the Trax’s sweet spot is clear if you want affordability, everyday usability, and a more polished feel than a bare-bones runabout.

34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent amount of choice if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is positioned as a straightforward, value-focused small SUV with a conventional turbocharged engine and a six-speed automatic, which keeps the mechanical formula simple. The engine is described as eager off the line, confident at higher speeds, and not overly stressed, while the chassis is said to feel stable and car-like on twisty roads.

Chevrolet also includes a three-year, 60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which helps support ownership confidence. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is that the Trax’s appeal is strongest on value and equipment, so you’ll want to be especially careful about condition and maintenance history if you plan to keep it for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Trax?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 1RS is the base trim, while LT, 2RS, and Activ add bigger screens and smarter interior trim. The 1RS uses cloth upholstery and an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims move to an 11-inch touchscreen, an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster, and a six-speaker sound system.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive only. It makes 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the setup is tuned more for easy drivability than outright performance.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels.
• Infotainment: The 1RS has an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while higher trims get an 11-inch touchscreen and an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster. Two USB ports are standard, and rear-seat charge ports are included on all but the 1RS.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Trax at 8.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined, with 8.5 city and 7.6 highway.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 4 trim levels: 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

Here's the short version:

• 1RS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Trax’s core value story with an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and can live without the larger screens and upgraded cabin presentation.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 11-inch touchscreen, the digital instrument cluster, and a six-speaker audio system while keeping the Trax’s affordable character. If you want the most balanced mix of price, tech, and everyday usability, this is the one to target.
• 2RS: This trim builds on the LT formula with a sportier look and the same upgraded tech, so it suits you if style matters and you want the more expressive RS treatment.
• Activ: This is the most distinctive trim, with black-painted 18-inch wheels, a black grille with chrome accents, and unique bumpers meant to look like skid plates. It’s the right pick if you want the most rugged-looking Trax, though it still follows the same front-wheel-drive mechanical setup as the rest of the range.

Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels, so check the equipment list carefully if that feature matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 427 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,187 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $30,230 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,933 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Trax is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago. If you’re planning to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, because the market is already pricing in some depreciation.

For a future seller, the good news is that the Trax’s strong value positioning and broad appeal should help it remain easy to shop. The caution is that today’s lower average price means you may not recover as much as you would have when prices were higher.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax earns the lowest “Poor” rating in IIHS moderate overlap front crash testing, while also receiving a top “Good” rating in the small overlap front test.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels.

Chevrolet also includes its Teen Driver monitoring system, which activates all available safety features and lets parents monitor driving behaviour. The main caveat is that the crash-test picture is still incomplete and the results published so far are not especially reassuring.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.33% compared with last year.
• The 2026 update is mainly about two new exterior colour options, so you’re getting the same core formula with the latest model-year positioning.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Trax with current-year pricing and the same value-focused package, the 2026 makes sense. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be the better path as long as the equipment and condition line up.
