New & Used 2026 Acura MDX for Sale nearWhitehorse, YT

Is the 2026 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2026 Acura MDX earns a 7.7/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It is positioned as a sporty-looking, comfortable, and reliable three-row crossover with a clear on-road focus rather than off-road ambitions. That makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury SUV that feels easy to live with, offers good utility, and puts styling and everyday refinement ahead of rugged capability.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, and fuel economy is unimpressive. There’s also no hybrid option, which limits its appeal if efficiency is a priority.

With 35.6% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2026 Acura MDX is described as reliable, and the expert test-drive data backs that up with a vehicle that feels solid and structurally robust in daily use. It is also presented as comfortable, quiet, and easy to live with, which usually matters a lot in long-term ownership.

Its powertrain is described as responsive and quick to accelerate, and the transmission behaves well. Acura’s driver-assistance systems are also said to be more refined and accurate than in past years, which supports the impression of a well-sorted SUV.

Acura’s maintenance coverage language is not included here, but the overall package suggests a used MDX should be a sensible long-term ownership choice if you stay on top of routine upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra trims differ in styling and equipment. The base trim is the least elaborate, while the higher trims add more upscale presentation and features such as a head-up display on the Platinum Elite A-Spec and Type S Ultra.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and SH-AWD. The Type S Ultra switches to a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 hp and adaptive air suspension.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard, while more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and Google Built-in are included, and the system is described as a major improvement over the old touchpad setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada estimate is 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, and the Type S Ultra is rated at 12.4 L/100 km.

Which 2026 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Tech: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the MDX experience at the lowest price and can live without the extra luxury touches found higher up.
• A-Spec: This trim adds a sportier look and is a good fit if styling matters to you and you want a more distinctive cabin treatment.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value choice if you want the most rounded mix of style, comfort, and equipment, including the head-up display and the more upscale presentation.
• Type S Ultra: Choose this only if you want the most powerful and performance-focused MDX, since it adds the twin-turbo V6 and adaptive air suspension.

AcuraWatch is standard across the range, while the more expensive variants add a surround-view camera system.

The 2026 Acura MDX earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, and the nearly identical 2025 model was an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch bundles the MDX’s main driver aids, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard, while more expensive variants add a surround-view camera system.
