New & Used 2026 Acura MDX for Sale near Fenelon Falls, ON

Is the 2026 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2026 Acura MDX earns a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It’s a strong fit if you want a refined three-row crossover that prioritizes paved-road comfort, quietness, and easy-to-use technology. The MDX also brings good utility and a quality feel, and Acura’s focus on on-road manners gives it a more engaging demeanour than many family SUVs.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, fuel economy is poor, and there’s no hybrid option. If you value style, comfort, and a polished cabin more than maximum efficiency or off-road ability, the MDX makes a compelling case.

With 28.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s a meaningful amount of market support for shoppers who like the package.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2026 Acura MDX is described as reliable, and Acura’s emphasis on quality and refinement supports that impression. It’s built around a proven 3.5-litre V6, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a well-sorted all-wheel-drive system, which points to a familiar and durable mechanical setup.

The powertrain is presented as responsive and quick to accelerate, and the SUV feels solid and structurally robust in everyday driving. Acura also positions the MDX as a vehicle that should remain popular because it offers a satisfying blend of attributes across a wide range of use cases.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that its poor fuel economy and lack of a hybrid option can make it more expensive to live with over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra each bring different levels of style and equipment. The base trim gets standard all-wheel drive, while the higher trims add features such as quilted leather upholstery, a head-up display, and more upscale exterior and interior detailing.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic. The Type S Ultra swaps in a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 hp, plus adaptive air suspension.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 12.3-inch digital display. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and Google Built-in are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada estimate is 11.2 L/100 km combined, and the Type S Ultra is rated at 12.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Tech: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core MDX experience with standard all-wheel drive, the 12.3-inch infotainment system, and AcuraWatch. It’s the trim to choose if you want the MDX’s fundamentals without paying for extras.
• A-Spec: This trim adds a sportier look and the leather and artificial suede treatment mentioned in the cabin description. It suits you if style matters and you want a more distinctive appearance without jumping to the top end.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value choice if you want the richest mix of comfort and technology. It adds quilted leather upholstery, a head-up display, and the upscale presentation that makes the MDX feel most premium.
• Type S Ultra: Choose this if you want the most performance and the most hardware. It brings the twin-turbocharged engine and adaptive air suspension, making it the right pick if you care most about stronger acceleration and a more advanced chassis.

All MDX models sold in Canada include AcuraWatch, while the more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX safe?

The 2026 Acura MDX has incomplete crash-test coverage, but the nearly identical 2025 model was an IIHS Top Safety Pick. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rates only the FWD models not sold in Canada, which earn an overall rating of five stars.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch bundles forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard.

The more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system. One caveat is that the lane departure warning can trigger steering wheel wobble, and lane centring assist can cycle on and off on winding roads.

Should I buy a 2026 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It carries over with only minor updates after the 2025 refresh, so you’re getting the latest version of the same formula.

Consider the 2025 if:

• The refreshed model delivers a simpler, more sophisticated, and more refined feel.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the MDX with the same core strengths, the 2026 is the straightforward choice. If you’re shopping carefully on price, the 2025 is worth a look because it delivers the refreshed MDX experience with similar appeal.
