The current average of $30,342 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,999 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average gives you a better cushion against depreciation. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Volkswagen Taos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used Taos with a softer price trend and a decent share of deal-priced listings, the 2025 is the primary year to focus on. If you're especially price-sensitive, you should also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the appeal of this year's market position.
