If you buy well today, the model’s broad appeal should help it hold attention when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $52,922 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $57,221 CAD average.
• It offers a first-year redesign with strong capability and standard driver-assistance tech.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It offers many configurations and strong appeal for buyers who want more choice.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with modernised hardware and a strong satisfaction signal, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If price matters more than having the latest model year, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
