Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Sienna stands out in the minivan class because it pairs a standard hybrid powertrain with practical features that make everyday use easier. It is also described as getting on in years, but still a worthy contender thanks to its combination of fuel-saving potential and useful packaging. The available all-wheel-drive system adds extra traction, which broadens its appeal for buyers who want a minivan that can handle less-than-ideal conditions with more confidence.
Its efficiency is a major part of the appeal, with combined driving consumption promised at 6.6–6.8 litres per 100 kilometres. The Sienna also has a clever cargo arrangement, since you never need to remove the second-row seats to use its maximum cargo area. That said, its maximum cargo capacity falls short of rivals, and the test-drive notes also point to an irritating transmission and poor real-world fuel economy. Even so, a great ride quality, a quiet cabin, and easy-to-use technology help make the 2025 Toyota Sienna a sensible and appealing choice for shoppers prioritising comfort and convenience.

Great handling car with an amazing amount of flexible storage. The XSE trim provides extra features for our sporting needs including the hidden tow and Hybrid makes this fuel efficient. No range anxiety when there is >800km on a full tank.

We looked at some platinum and XLE models. While platinum has built-in fridge and built in vacuum but it's also more pricey. While XLE doesn't have ottoman and second row entertainment unit. This model fits perfectly for my family's needs

Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Toyota Sienna earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.
It fits well if you want a minivan that prioritises fuel-saving potential, everyday practicality, and comfort. The overview points to a standard hybrid powertrain, available all-wheel drive, and useful packaging, while the expert notes highlight a quiet cabin and easy-to-use technology.
The trade-offs are worth weighing: the transmission can be irritating, and real-world fuel economy fell short in testing. Even so, 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a well-priced example.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Sienna’s appeal is built around a standard hybrid setup, practical family use, and a reputation for being easy to live with. The expert notes also point to a quiet highway experience and a powertrain that doesn’t feel slow in normal driving, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.
Its hybrid system is designed to maximise fuel economy, and the available all-wheel drive adds flexibility for tougher weather. The cost-effectiveness notes also frame it as strong value if its cargo and fuel-use compromises fit your needs.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a vehicle this practical can still disappoint if you expect class-leading cargo space or consistently strong real-world efficiency.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited, with the Limited and Platinum package bringing the most upscale presentation. Base models have smaller displays, while higher-spec versions add a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. If you want the most family-friendly equipment, look closely at the higher trims.
- Powertrain: You get a hybrid system with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available with an additional rear-mounted electric motor. The setup is tuned for efficiency rather than excitement, and the CVT can sound strained under hard acceleration.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also included on all Siennas.
- Infotainment: Higher-spec models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, and connected services can add voice-assistant and navigation features when active. The Limited also gets a rear 11.6-inch display, HDMI input, remote, and two wireless headphones.
- Fuel efficiency: The official combined rating for the FWD test model is 6.6 L/100 km, and the overview cites 6.6–6.8 L/100 km in combined driving. In testing, it averaged 8.9 L/100 km combined, so check whether the vehicle’s usage pattern matches your expectations.
Which 2025 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Sienna is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Sienna lineup. It has the core hybrid efficiency and safety equipment, but smaller displays and fewer convenience features than the higher trims.
- XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more complete family-friendly feature set without jumping all the way to the top end. It should suit you if you want a balanced mix of comfort, technology, and price.
- XSE: Choose this if you want the racier look and the sport-tuned suspension mentioned in the expert notes. It is the trim to consider if you want a slightly more engaging feel, though expectations should stay realistic.
- Limited: This is the most upscale mainstream choice, with the larger displays, rear entertainment hardware, and more premium tech content. It suits you if you want the most features and are willing to pay for them.
The safety package is built around Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, and all Siennas also include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 217 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $58,409 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $58,994 CAD sits slightly below last year's $64,570 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests buyers have more leverage today than they did a year ago. For a future seller, it also means you may need to be realistic about how quickly the market will absorb a higher-priced listing.
The good news is that the Sienna’s practical appeal, hybrid efficiency, and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand. If you keep mileage, condition, and equipment in line with the market, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna safe?
The 2025 Toyota Sienna earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but it also scores four-star in frontal crash testing and three-star for driver protection in a frontal impact.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 brings forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard across the lineup.
One important caveat is that the Sienna does not use the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system. The expert notes also flag the frontal crash result as the weakest among minivans, so you should weigh that carefully if safety is your top priority.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It adds a standard hybrid powertrain, available all-wheel drive, and updated rear-seat reminder technology.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $55,087 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $58,994 CAD average.
- It focuses on fuel-sipping hybrid practicality and standard safety features.
The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year advantages and are shopping for a well-equipped family hauler, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2024 is the smarter path, especially if its core hybrid practicality is enough for your needs.
