Is the 2025 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Toyota’s reputation for reliability is a major part of the RAV4’s appeal, and the model is positioned as a practical, dependable compact SUV rather than a performance-focused one. Its straightforward cabin and emphasis on core utility also fit the kind of ownership experience many used buyers want.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about choosing the right version for your needs and budget.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 919 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,977 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $40,146 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,676 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can make the RAV4 more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well your vehicle is equipped relative to similar listings. The good news is that steady demand for practical, well-equipped compact SUVs can help support pricing over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,945 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $40,146 CAD average.
• It offers practical, dependable utility with broad drivetrain choice.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a redesigned package with more power, greater efficiency, and standard hybrid power.

The bottom line: If you want the current-year balance of equipment, choice, and softened pricing, the 2025 is the primary pick. If your priority is lower purchase cost, the 2024 is the better value path. If you want the newest redesign and improved efficiency, the 2026 is worth waiting for.
