Is the 2025 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a model that resonates strongly with shoppers. The 2025 Toyota RAV4 is built around practicality, with a broad range of gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid choices, plus rugged Trail and TRD Off-Road versions for buyers who want more capability. It stays focused on usefulness rather than excitement, but it delivers strong safety content, mainstream pricing, and a wide spread of equipment that makes it easy to match to your needs.

That combination of versatility and value helps explain why 37.6% of listings are marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Toyota’s reputation for reliability is a major part of the 2025 RAV4’s appeal, and the model’s practical, dependable character is a core reason many shoppers consider it. It is designed to serve as a useful, low-drama compact SUV rather than a performance-focused one, which can be a plus if you want straightforward ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the concept and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and hasn’t been overused.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 889 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.94% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,978 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $40,377 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,924 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you’re buying now, but it also means future resale gains may be more measured than they were a year ago. Even so, the RAV4’s broad appeal, practical packaging, and strong reputation should help it stay in demand with used shoppers. If you buy well and keep it in good condition, you should still have a solid path to resale later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,992 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $40,377 CAD average.
• It remains a practical, dependable choice with roomy packaging and broad drivetrain choice.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a redesigned look, more power, and a standard hybrid drivetrain.
• It adds more standard features and a quicker operating system.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, strong satisfaction, and broad configuration choice, the 2025 is the main path to consider. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2024 is the better value play. If you want the newest design and improved efficiency, it makes sense to wait for the 2026.
