Used 2025 Subaru Outback for Sale nearMontreal, QC

How much does the 2025 Subaru Outback cost?

Prices have softened 15.28% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 300 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2025 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Subaru Outback earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It stands out as one of the last remaining station wagons on the market, so you get a distinctive long-roof shape instead of the usual crossover profile. That design supports the Outback’s practical, value-focused appeal, along with a comfortable ride and standard all-wheel drive. The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, and the touchscreen response is sluggish.

With 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Outback’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward, practical design and its focus on everyday usefulness. Its standard all-wheel drive, comfortable ride, and strong safety reputation all point to a vehicle built for steady use over time. The powertrain is conventional, and the available turbocharged engine gives you a stronger option if you want more reserve without moving into a more complex setup.

The Outback also benefits from a well-established ownership formula, and Subaru’s maintenance-friendly positioning adds to its appeal for used buyers. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that the base engine and infotainment system may feel dated sooner than the rest of the vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Outback?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Convenience and Touring trims use cloth upholstery and 17-inch wheels, while Onyx and Wilderness models add easy-to-clean StarTex synthetic leather and heated outboard rear seats. All trims but Convenience get a power moonroof and the larger 11.6-inch infotainment system, so the base model leaves out some desirable comfort and tech features.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-litre Boxer engine makes 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque, while XT and Wilderness models use a turbocharged 2.4-litre engine with 260 hp and 277 lb-ft. The base engine is described as barely adequate, so you may prefer the upgraded engine if your budget allows.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with lane centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency steering. Touring and higher trims add blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Most trims get a portrait-oriented 11.6-inch touchscreen, while the base model uses twin 7-inch displays. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, wireless unless you have the base model’s twin 7-inch displays. The system is slow to respond, especially at startup.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.5-litre model earns 9.2 L/100 km in the city, 7.3 L/100 km on the highway, and 8.3 L/100 km combined. Turbocharged XT models rise to 10.6 L/100 km city, 8.1 highway, and 9.5 combined. Wilderness models are rated at 11.0 city, 9.0 highway, and 10.1 combined.

Which 2025 Subaru Outback trim should I buy?

The 2025 Subaru Outback is offered in 7 trim levels: Convenience, Touring, Onyx, Limited, Wilderness, Limited XT, and Premier XT.

Here's the short version:

• Convenience: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Outback’s core strengths at the lowest price, but you give up some comfort and tech equipment found higher up.
• Touring: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience while staying on the more affordable side of the range.
• Onyx: Choose this if you want the easy-to-clean StarTex interior and the more rugged-leaning presentation.
• Limited: This is where the Outback starts to feel more premium, with leather upholstery, built-in navigation, and Subaru’s DriverFocus system.
• Wilderness: Pick this if you want the most adventure-focused version, with extra ground clearance, a front skid plate, and additional X-Mode settings.
• Limited XT: This is the smart upgrade if you want the stronger turbocharged engine with a more upscale equipment mix.
• Premier XT: This is the most luxurious choice, adding Nappa leather upholstery and ventilated front seats.

Touring and higher trims also add blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Outback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 300 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.28% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,756 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $39,756 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,925 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. The Outback’s distinctive wagon shape and strong safety reputation should help it stand out, especially among shoppers who want something different from a typical crossover. Even so, resale will depend on how well the market continues to value its unique formula.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Subaru Outback safe?

The 2025 Outback received the top five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with lane centring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency steering. Touring and higher trims also add blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert. The system does keep the Outback in its lane, though it can make more side-to-side corrections than ideal.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It remains one of the last remaining station wagons, with a unique long-roof shape and strong safety ratings.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $34,424 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $39,756 CAD average.
• It keeps the raised wagon formula while offering a broad trim range and strong practicality.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a redesigned SUV-like shape with more feature enhancements and strong all-around balance.

The bottom line: If you want the current Outback’s distinctive wagon character, the 2025 is the one to target. If price matters most, the 2024 offers a lower entry point, while the 2026 is the better path if you want the redesigned direction and can wait.
