CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Subaru Impreza
Summary
- With 88 currently listed for sale and an average price of $31,278 CAD, 33.0% of 2025 Subaru Impreza listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Subaru Impreza stands out because it combines standard all-wheel drive with the practicality of a compact hatchback body. In this generation, Subaru also made the manual transmission disappear, so every trim uses a continuously variable transmission. That shift gives the car a more modern, simplified character, while Subaru’s EyeSight safety suite comes standard. The result is an Impreza that leans more toward everyday usability and safety than enthusiast appeal, but still keeps the brand’s core traction advantage.
Equipment is a strong part of the appeal. The base Convenience model includes cloth upholstery, 16-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, steering-responsive LED headlights, heated front seats, dual 7-inch touchscreens, and Subaru Starlink Multimedia with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Touring trim adds a vertical 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 17-inch alloy wheels, upgraded cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and paddle shifters. For buyers wanting more performance and a richer feature set, the RS trim brings a 182-hp 2.5-litre boxer engine, 18-inch wheels, RS cloth upholstery with red accents, a power sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.
As a current-generation model, the 2025 Subaru Impreza is not the cheapest used choice, but it offers a well-rounded mix of standard safety, useful technology, and all-weather confidence. Its main drawbacks are also clear: the CVT is the only transmission, and the car’s focus on practicality means it gives up some of the enthusiast character that once defined parts of the Impreza name.

Is the 2025 Subaru Impreza a good car?
The 2025 Subaru Impreza is a good fit if you want a compact hatchback with standard all-wheel drive, everyday usability, and a strong safety focus. Subaru also gives it a simplified lineup with a CVT across all trims, which makes the car feel more modern and easier to shop, while the standard EyeSight safety suite adds peace of mind.
It is especially appealing if you value practical traction, useful technology, and a well-equipped base model. The trade-off is that it leans more toward comfort and convenience than enthusiast character, and it is not the cheapest used option in its class.
With 32.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still some room to find a competitive offer.
Is the 2025 Subaru Impreza reliable?
The 2025 Subaru Impreza is presented as a practical, safety-minded compact hatchback with standard all-wheel drive and a simplified powertrain lineup. That combination points to an ownership experience centred on everyday usability rather than complexity.
Its standard EyeSight safety suite and straightforward trim structure should make it appealing to used buyers who want a sensible, low-drama vehicle. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that you are buying a current-generation model with a CVT-only setup, so condition and maintenance history matter.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Impreza?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings before committing.
- Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 84 listings available.
Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Consider the 2024 if:
- It offers strong value with standard all-wheel drive and a more affordable entry point.
The bottom line: Choose the 2025 Subaru Impreza if you want the newer model-year package with standard safety tech and a current-generation feel. If your priority is value, the 2024 is the better path to consider because it delivers the same core all-wheel-drive appeal with a lower used-market price.
