Is the 2025 RAM 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 2025 RAM 1500 earns 4/5 from owners and 8.3/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its sharp looks, smooth ride, and powerful engine options, along with the quality and finish of the cabin. The overview also points to a more modern feel thanks to new technology and updated powertrain choices, while still keeping the truck’s broad appeal as a full-size all-rounder. The main trade-offs are that the price can feel steep and advanced safety features are not standard.

With a 33.7% good-or-great deal share, the market offers some room to shop carefully rather than rush.

Is the 2025 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable, with praise for its quality, finish, and smooth everyday use. The expert review reinforces that impression by highlighting smooth-shifting powertrains and a ride that feels well suited to a full-size truck.

Ram also adds some ownership-friendly touches, including a faster Uconnect 5 system and available features that improve day-to-day usability. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-spec trucks can be expensive to buy and maintain, so condition and equipment level matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from work-focused to ultra-luxury, with the base Tradesman getting an 8.4-inch flush screen, while higher trims add more premium materials, larger displays, and features such as the walk-up animation on Tungsten and Limited.
• Powertrain: The base 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 carries over, while the optional upgrade is the 3.0-litre Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six, offered in standard-output and high-output forms. Ram says the new engine architecture brings better fuel efficiency, even when towing.
• Safety package: The available Hands-Free Driving Assist system is Ram’s Level 2+ semi-autonomous setup, and newly enhanced automatic emergency braking now includes evasive steering assist. Blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and the surround view camera are not standard.
• Infotainment: An 8.4-inch screen is standard, a 12-inch screen is available, and the 14.5-inch touchscreen was fitted to every test vehicle. The 10.25-inch passenger screen becomes available starting with Laramie, and the system runs Uconnect 5.
• Fuel efficiency: Ram says the new engine architecture improves fuel efficiency, but no official L/100 km figure is stated here.

Which 2025 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 1500 is offered in 5 trim levels: Tradesman, Laramie, Rebel, Limited, Tungsten.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the entry point, and it gives you the essentials plus the standard 8.4-inch screen. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but you’ll miss many of the luxury and tech upgrades that define the refreshed truck.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the 10.25-inch passenger screen and starts moving the truck into more premium territory. It’s a strong middle ground if you want meaningful tech without jumping all the way to the top end.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want the most off-road-focused character in the lineup. The expert review highlights its 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler tires, Bilstein shocks, and factory lift, and it impressed on rough terrain.
• Limited: This trim leans hard into luxury, with premium interior treatment and the available air suspension becoming standard starting here. It suits you if comfort and upscale features matter more than price.
• Tungsten: This is the top luxury trim, with the most lavish materials, the exclusive interior colour scheme, and the full suite of high-end tech. It’s the one to buy if you want the most premium RAM 1500 experience.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so check carefully which driver-assistance equipment is included on the trim you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,222 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $62,970 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $62,970 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,666 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the truck is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if your truck lacks the higher-end tech and safety equipment that shoppers now expect. Well-equipped trims should hold more appeal than bare-bones examples because the refreshed model’s premium features are a major part of its value story.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2025 RAM 1500 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram’s available Hands-Free Driving Assist system is the headline safety and driver-assistance feature, and it can manage speed, following distance, and lane centring on approved roads. Newly enhanced automatic emergency braking now includes evasive steering assist, and the truck can detect a cyclist or motorcycle in the blind spot. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard, and neither are adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, or the surround view camera.

That means you should pay close attention to trim and option content if safety tech is a priority. The truck’s advanced systems are a major strength, but they are not universally included across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a major tech update, including hands-free driver assistance and a new super-luxe trim.

Consider the 2026 if:

• The Hemi V8 returns as an option for buyers who want that engine’s character.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the refreshed truck’s stronger tech story and softer pricing. If you’re specifically shopping for the Hemi’s return, the 2026 is the one to watch, but price-sensitive buyers should still give the 2025 a close look.
