Used 2025 Nissan Frontier for Sale near Ontario

How much does the 2025 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 5.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 53 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Nissan Frontier earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

The Frontier’s appeal comes from its traditional truck character: a V6 engine, body-on-frame construction, competitive towing and payload ratings, and a more polished cabin than you might expect from an older design. It also gets meaningful 2025 updates, including more standard safety equipment and a new 12.3-inch touchscreen.

The trade-offs are clear, though: the technology is outdated, the safety results are unimpressive, and the value equation is weak for the money. That makes it a better fit if you want a straightforward midsize pickup with old-school appeal rather than the most advanced truck in the segment.

Only 43.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you should still shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Frontier’s reliability story is tied to its simple, traditional formula. It uses a V6 engine, a conventional automatic transmission, and a back-to-basics approach to controls and displays, which can be reassuring if you prefer fewer complications. The truck also feels robust and durable in daily use.

Its dependability is helped by the fact that the Frontier does not try to overcomplicate the driving experience, and its standard equipment is straightforward rather than heavily layered with advanced systems. The maintenance side is also appealing in a practical sense because the truck’s design emphasises familiar hardware and simple operation.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its older technology and less refined safety performance may age less gracefully than the rest of the truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Frontier is available in SV, PRO-4X, and SL trim levels. The base setup is more basic, while higher trims add more polish, and the SL brings the more advanced standard surround-view camera system with off-road mode.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.8-litre V6 with 310 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission. It is not especially fuel-efficient, but it delivers the traditional truck feel many buyers want.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, while the surround-view camera system with off-road mode is newly standard beginning at the SL.
• Infotainment: Every Canadian Frontier gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and NissanConnect services. The interface is still clunky, so you may want to rely on smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The Frontier is expected to achieve 12.7 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test truck averaged 12.5 L/100 km on a mountainous route.

Which 2025 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Frontier is offered in 3 trim levels: SV, PRO-4X, SL.

Here's the short version:

• SV: This is the entry point if you want the Frontier’s core V6 power, standard 4WD, and the new 12.3-inch touchscreen without paying for the more specialised off-road hardware. It makes sense if you want the Frontier’s traditional strengths at the lowest price.
• PRO-4X: This is the best-value choice if you want the Frontier’s off-road-focused hardware, including Bilstein shocks, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, and all-terrain tyres. It suits you if you want the most rugged version and can live with the truck’s stiff ride on rough terrain.
• SL: This is the most comfort- and convenience-oriented trim, and it adds the more advanced standard surround-view camera system with off-road mode. Choose it if you want the most polished Frontier experience and are willing to pay more for it.

The safety package is standard across the range, but the surround-view camera system with off-road mode begins at the SL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

It looks like a buyer’s market if you are shopping carefully.

• Deal availability: 43.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 53 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,897 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $54,277 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,684 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier is currently under more pressure than it was a year ago, which can be a mixed signal for future resale. If you buy now, you may benefit from a lower entry price, but a seller later could face a market that still values the truck cautiously.

The Frontier’s traditional appeal and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but its value story is still held back by its age, technology, and safety reputation. If those factors improve in future model years, resale could stabilise more favourably.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2025 Nissan Frontier earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, and the surround-view camera system with off-road mode becomes standard beginning at the SL.

There are some important caveats. The lane-departure warning system can be overly sensitive, and the forward-collision warning system was reported as non-operational in bright sun during testing. IIHS results also include a Poor rating for the standard halogen headlights, which is a notable weakness.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 43.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds more standard safety equipment and a new 12.3-inch touchscreen.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds extra standard equipment, including a newly standard drive mode selector.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want a lower-priced Frontier with meaningful updates and decent market availability. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, the 2025’s softer pricing makes it the more attractive path; if you want the newest standard equipment, the 2026 is worth a look.
