Used 2025 Nissan Frontier for Sale near Matheson, ON

How much does the 2025 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 6.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 50 listings available, which suggests you have a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Nissan Frontier earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

The Frontier is a midsize pickup with a traditional truck character, thanks to its V6 engine, body-on-frame construction, and competitive towing and payload ratings. It also gets several 2025 updates that make it more appealing, including more standard safety features, a new 12.3-inch touchscreen, and improved towing capacity.

The trade-offs are its outdated technology and poor value for money, and the expert notes also point to unimpressive safety ratings. Even so, the Frontier’s comfortable front seats and higher sense of quality make it a sensible fit if you want an old-school pickup with a more polished feel.

38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Frontier’s appeal comes from its straightforward, back-to-basics design, traditional controls, and solid construction. It uses a V6 engine rather than a turbocharged four-cylinder, and the truck’s simple approach to the drivetrain and cabin tech should make it feel familiar and durable over time.

Its performance character is also part of the reliability story: the truck feels robust and durable, and it is smooth and quiet on local highways. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a complimentary three-year subscription to the Premium services plan.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its older-school hardware and modest value equation may age less gracefully than newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Frontier is available in SV, PRO-4X, and SL trim levels. The PRO-4X Luxury test vehicle adds more black exterior trim, new orange colour accents, and a larger infotainment screen, while the cabin’s traditional knobs and buttons remain a major strength. The base trim is not described here, so focus on whether the trim you’re considering includes the features you want rather than assuming they all do.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.8-litre V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. All Canadian Frontiers feature standard shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case. The V6 is not particularly fuel-efficient, but it is satisfying and gives the truck its traditional character.
• Safety package: Every 2025 Frontier has Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard. A surround-view camera system with an off-road mode is newly standard beginning at the Frontier SL.
• Infotainment: Every Canadian 2025 Frontier gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and NissanConnect services. A Wi-Fi hotspot is available with an active data plan, and the truck also offers a complimentary three-year subscription to the Premium services plan.
• Fuel efficiency: According to NRCan, the Frontier PRO-4X Luxury is expected to achieve 12.7 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test truck averaged 12.5 L/100 km on a mountainous evaluation loop. In heavy city traffic, it returned 15.0 L/100 km.

Which 2025 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Frontier is offered in 3 trim levels: SV, PRO-4X, and SL.

Here's the short version:

• SV: This is the trim to start with if you want the Frontier’s traditional V6 power, standard 4WD, and the new 12.3-inch touchscreen without paying for the more specialised off-road hardware. It should suit you if you want the Frontier’s core strengths at the lowest entry point in the lineup.
• PRO-4X: This is the off-road-focused choice, with a modified suspension, Bilstein shocks, an electronic locking rear differential, front and underbody skid plates, and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. It is the right pick if you want the Frontier’s toughest hardware and can live with its stiffer ride.
• SL: This is the most comfort- and convenience-oriented trim, and it is the one that brings the newly standard surround-view camera system with off-road mode and traffic sign recognition. If you want the most polished Frontier experience, this is the trim to target.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the surround-view camera system with off-road mode begins at the SL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 50 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,923 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $53,923 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,449 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Frontier has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly market today. For a future seller, that means resale value may depend heavily on condition, trim, and equipment rather than broad market momentum alone.

The truck’s traditional appeal, strong construction, and standard equipment help support demand, but its value story is still held back by its older technology and mixed safety reputation. If you buy well now and keep the truck in strong condition, you should be better positioned when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2025 Nissan Frontier earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side-impact crash tests and three-star ratings for driver protection and rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2025 Frontier comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, and the SL adds a surround-view camera system with off-road mode and traffic sign recognition.

The main caveat is that the Frontier does not offer Nissan’s more advanced ProPilot Assist technology, and the expert notes also flag the truck’s safety ratings as a drawback. The IIHS results published so far include a Poor rating for the standard halogen headlights, while higher trim headlights were rated Acceptable.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds more standard safety features, a new 12.3-inch touchscreen, and improved towing capacity.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds extra standard equipment, including a newly standard drive mode selector.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of lower pricing, improved equipment, and broad availability. If you are shopping mainly on value, the current market makes the 2025 especially worth a close look. If you want the newest standard equipment and can stretch for it, the 2026 is the alternative to compare.
