How much does the 2025 MINI Countryman cost?

Is the 2025 MINI Countryman a good car?

The 2025 MINI Countryman earns an 6.8/10 expert rating, and its strongest category score is Look and feel at 9/10.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It stands out as a personality-first small crossover with expressive styling, BMW engineering and technology, and the cheeky MINI character that helps define the brand. It also gives you more room than before, with enough space for rear-seat passengers and a competitive amount of cargo.

The trade-offs are clear: dissatisfying steering, poor ride quality, and unintuitive technology. That means it suits you best if you value style, character, and driving fun more than polish and refinement.

With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 MINI Countryman reliable?

The 2025 MINI Countryman is presented as a well-equipped, modern redesign with standard all-wheel drive and a broad safety and technology package. Its expert assessment also points to a vehicle that can be enjoyable and distinctive, even if it is rough around the edges.

From a dependability standpoint, the powertrain is described as quick and nimble, but also not especially refined. The DCT can feel clunky, and the stop/start and brake-hold behaviour can make low-speed driving less smooth than you might expect.

On the ownership side, the Countryman’s quirks and complexity mean you should go in expecting a more involved used-car experience than with a mainstream compact SUV. For long-term used ownership, the biggest risk is that its personality and technology may age less gracefully than its styling.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 MINI Countryman?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Countryman S is the popular choice, the John Cooper Works offers the most power and performance, and the SE is the electric model with an estimated 341 kilometres of range. The Favoured style and 20-inch wheels make a bold statement, while the Premier+ package adds more equipment.
• Powertrain: The Countryman S uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. It is quick and nimble, but the DCT can feel clunky and the powertrain lacks refinement.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with active steering input, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and Mini Assist eCall with an SOS button and automatic collision notification. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability is available with the Driving Assistant Professional upgrade in the Premier+ package.
• Infotainment: The Countryman uses a round 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen, and it includes wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, cloud-based navigation with augmented video, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system. The interface is feature-rich, but it can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The official estimate is 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 9.6 L/100 km.

Which 2025 MINI Countryman trim should I buy?

The 2025 MINI Countryman is offered in 3 trim levels: S All4, John Cooper Works All4, and SE All4.

Here's the short version:

• S All4: This is the best-value choice if you want the core Countryman experience, including the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, standard all-wheel drive, and the playful character that defines the model.
• John Cooper Works All4: Choose this if you want the most power and performance, along with the more aggressive personality that comes with the JCW model series.
• SE All4: Pick this if you want the electric version and its estimated 341-kilometre range.

The Premier+ package adds Driving Assistant Professional, and that upgrade brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centring assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 MINI Countryman?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 129 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,370 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 MINI Countryman's resale value?

The current average of $42,370 CAD sits slightly below last year's $50,691 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has moved in buyers' favour, which can help you negotiate more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect depreciation pressure if you buy at the current average and later try to resell. The Countryman’s resale story is likely to depend heavily on condition, trim, and how well its distinctive character holds up with age.

Is the 2025 MINI Countryman safe?

The 2025 MINI Countryman earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with active steering input to avoid a collision, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and Mini Assist eCall with an SOS button and automatic collision notification.

Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability is available with the Driving Assistant Professional upgrade in the Premier+ package, and that system also adds lane-centring assist. The main caveat is that the lane-centring setup can be overly insistent about hand placement and driver input.

Should I buy a 2025 MINI Countryman or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.41% compared with last year.
• It offers a redesigned, more spacious Countryman with strong personality and standard all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,977 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $42,370 CAD average.
• It offers a familiar, stylish package with MINI’s playful character.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the redesigned model, more space, and the latest Countryman personality. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the better value path, especially if you want a lower entry price and can live with the older-generation formula.
