Is the 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid a good car?

The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid earns a 6.5/10 expert rating, and it is aimed at you if you want a luxury midsize two-row SUV that prioritises comfort, refinement, and powertrain choice over driver engagement.

The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Is the 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid reliable?

The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid leans on Lexus’s long-standing reputation for reliability, along with a plush ride and a quiet interior that suit everyday luxury use.

Its hybrid powertrain is described as efficient and calm in the RX 350h, while the broader lineup gives you multiple powertrain choices if you want to tailor the SUV to your priorities. The cost-effectiveness notes also reinforce that Lexus has built this model around durability-minded ownership, backed by a four-year/80,000-kilometre new-car warranty and an eight-year/160,000-kilometre hybrid system warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a more complex, feature-rich luxury SUV can be expensive to keep in top shape if previous owners skipped maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX 350h is the base model, and it gives you the broadest range of package choices, while the RX 500h and RX 450h+ are positioned higher up the range. The base model is the one to focus on if you want the best value, while the more expensive versions add more equipment and a more specialised character.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-litre hybrid setup in the RX 350h, a turbocharged 2.4-litre hybrid in the RX 500h, or a plug-in hybrid system in the RX 450h+. The RX 350h is the most efficient, while the RX 500h trades efficiency for stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes forward collision warning with intersection assist, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard. The available surround-view camera is worth seeking out.
• Infotainment: The RX 500h features a 14-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connected services through Lexus Interface. You also get a cloud-based navigation system and complimentary Drive Connect access.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350h is rated at 6.5 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, while the RX 450h+ is rated at 6.7 L/100 km combined. The RX 500h is rated at 8.6 L/100 km combined, and it is the least efficient of the three.

Which 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid is offered in 8 trim levels: RX 350h Premium, RX 350h F Sport Design, RX 350h Luxury, RX 350h Ultra Luxury, RX 350h Executive, RX 500h F Sport Performance 2, RX 500h F Sport Performance 3, and RX 500h F Sport Black Line.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350h Premium: This is the best-value starting point if you want the RX’s comfort, efficiency, and broad package availability without paying for the most expensive equipment.
• RX 350h F Sport Design: Choose this if you want a sportier appearance without moving into the more expensive performance-focused models.
• RX 350h Luxury: This suits you if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for extra comfort-oriented equipment.
• RX 350h Ultra Luxury: Pick this if you want the most indulgent version of the efficient RX 350h.
• RX 350h Executive: This is the right choice if you want the most premium take on the standard hybrid powertrain.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance 2: This is the entry point for the performance hybrid, and it adds stronger acceleration and a more dynamic setup.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance 3: Choose this if you want the performance hybrid with more equipment and a more complete feature set.
• RX 500h F Sport Black Line: This is the most distinctive choice, with the sportiest presentation and the most exclusive feel.

The available surround-view camera is a worthwhile safety upgrade, and it should be standard on the more expensive versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 136 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $66,453 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $67,110 CAD sits slightly below last year's $77,451 CAD.

That price movement suggests the RX Hybrid has become more approachable for used buyers than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the market to reward well-kept examples, but not necessarily at the same level they commanded last year. The current pricing also means depreciation has already done some of the work for you if you buy now and hold the vehicle for a few years.

Is the 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid safe?

The 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, but it receives a Poor rating from IIHS in an updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with intersection assist, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Safety Connect is also included for up to ten years and adds automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, and roadside assistance access.

The main caveat is the IIHS Poor result in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2025 Lexus RX Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.
• The 2025 brings a broad mix of hybrid, performance hybrid, and plug-in hybrid choices.

Consider the 2026 if:

• The RX 500h F Sport Performance becomes the most powerful RX and adds a more focused performance angle.

The bottom line: If you want the widest choice of powertrains and a softer used-market price, the 2025 is the safer buy. If you are specifically chasing the newer performance-oriented direction, the 2026 is the better path, but price-sensitive buyers should still focus on the 2025.
