How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz cost?

Prices have softened 10.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 141 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns an 8/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

It’s aimed at you if you want a small truck for weekend DIY projects, hauling bulky items, and carrying adventure gear on day trips. The Santa Cruz also stands out for being fun to drive and packing impressive technology, but its styling won’t suit everyone.

Trade-offs: the all-terrain tyres can hurt on-pavement handling, the back seat is cramped, and cargo space is limited.

With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a decent amount of value-oriented inventory to consider.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is positioned as a well-equipped, warranty-backed small truck with a strong focus on everyday versatility. Its turbocharged powertrain is described as fun and capable, and the model’s tech and safety equipment add to its appeal for regular use.

The turbo-four runs on regular gas, which helps keep day-to-day ownership simpler. Hyundai also includes a broad set of connected and convenience features, including remote car finder service, safe teen driver functions, panic notification, and automatic emergency assistance.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its more specialised hardware and trucklet packaging may not suit every ownership need as mileage builds.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Preferred trim gives you the core Santa Cruz formula, while the XRT adds a more rugged look, improved approach angle, and all-terrain tyres. The Ultimate is the most polished choice if you want the best on-road balance and the richest feature set.
• Powertrain: All trims use a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with standard all-wheel drive. It’s quick and runs on regular gas, but the dual-clutch automatic can feel quirky and the all-terrain tyres can dull paved-road handling.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. The XRT adds intersection collision braking, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with curve speed adjustment, while the Ultimate adds Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluelink connected services, and over-the-air software updates. Wireless charging is standard on the XRT and Ultimate.
• Fuel efficiency: The Preferred and Ultimate trims are rated at 10.7 L/100 km combined, while the XRT is rated at 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, XRT, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point if you want the Santa Cruz’s core utility, standard all-wheel drive, and full infotainment and safety basics without paying for extra off-road or luxury features.
• XRT: This is the more rugged-looking choice, with all-terrain tyres, an improved approach angle, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with curve speed adjustment. It’s the trim that best suits you if you want the Santa Cruz to lean into its adventurous side.
• Ultimate: This is the best-value pick if you want the most complete version of the trucklet. It adds Highway Driving Assist and is the trim the experts would choose over the XRT for better on-road driving dynamics.

The safety package expands as you move up the range, with the XRT and Ultimate getting additional driver-assistance features beyond the standard set.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

The market looks moderately favourable if you’re a selective buyer and willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 141 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,940 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $37,940 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,182 CAD.

That drop suggests the Santa Cruz has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the truck quickly. If the market stays soft, resale values could remain under pressure relative to last year.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns a “Marginal” rating in the latest moderate overlap frontal-impact assessment, and the driver assistance technologies receive that same rating for their effectiveness in preventing a front crash.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. Starting with the XRT trim, you also get intersection collision braking, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adjustment for curves. The Ultimate trim adds Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist for highway use.

The main caveat is the Marginal IIHS result, which is worth keeping in mind if crash-test performance is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.06% compared with last year.
• It adds new tech, styling updates, and off-roading enhancements.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $35,921 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $37,940 CAD average.
• It offers useful truck-like versatility in a compact, quirky package.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the latest tech and the most refined version of the Santa Cruz formula. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play and still delivers the same basic character.
