How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz cost?

There are 140 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns an 8/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

It’s aimed at you if you want a small truck for weekend DIY projects, hauling bulky items, and carrying adventure gear on day trips. The upside is that it’s fun to drive and packed with impressive technology, but the trade-offs include on-pavement handling with all-terrain tyres and a cramped back seat. It also has not much cargo space for a truck.

With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is presented as a well-rounded small truck with a strong warranty and a focus on everyday versatility rather than hard-use work. Its expert assessment also highlights that it’s fun to drive and backed by impressive technology.

The powertrain is described as robust, with the turbocharged engine making its power on regular gas instead of premium. That said, the transmission is called quirky, and the XRT’s all-terrain tyres can compromise paved-road handling.

Hyundai’s warranty support is a meaningful ownership perk, and the truck’s compact size should make day-to-day use easy. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its comfort and drivability trade-offs may matter more as the kilometres add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Preferred, XRT, and Ultimate. The XRT adds a more rugged look, an improved approach angle, and standard all-terrain tyres, while the Ultimate is the better pick if you want stronger on-road driving dynamics. The base trim misses some of the extra camera and driver-assistance hardware found higher up.
• Powertrain: All trims use a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with standard all-wheel drive. It makes 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, runs on regular gas, and the XRT uses an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic that can feel quirky.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. Starting with the XRT, you also get intersection collision braking, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adjustment for curves. Highway Driving Assist is standard on the Ultimate.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluelink connected services, and over-the-air software updates. Wireless smartphone charging is standard on the XRT and Ultimate.
• Fuel efficiency: The Preferred and Ultimate trims are rated at 10.7 L/100 km combined, while the XRT is rated at 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, XRT, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point if you want the Santa Cruz’s core strengths without paying for the extra camera and driver-assistance hardware. It gives you the same turbocharged engine, standard AWD, and the full 12.3-inch infotainment setup.
• XRT: This is the most distinctive trim, with the improved approach angle, standard all-terrain tyres, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, adaptive cruise control with curve speed adjustment, and wireless charging. It’s the one to choose if you want the rugged look and extra hardware, but it’s also the least efficient and has the quirkiest transmission behaviour.
• Ultimate: This is the best-value trim if you care most about everyday usability and on-road refinement. It keeps the better fuel economy rating, adds Highway Driving Assist, and is the trim the experts would choose over the XRT for its better on-road driving dynamics.

The XRT and Ultimate trims add extra safety and convenience features beyond the base model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,359 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $38,359 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,548 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Santa Cruz has softened enough to be more approachable for used buyers than it was a year ago. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower point than last year’s average, which can help reduce depreciation risk in the near term. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the truck’s equipment matches what shoppers want.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns a Marginal rating in the latest moderate overlap frontal-impact assessment from IIHS, while the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives it five-star ratings in each collision evaluation and a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. Starting with the XRT trim, you also get intersection collision braking, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adjustment for curves. Highway Driving Assist is standard on the Ultimate trim and adds lane-centring assist for highway use.

The main caveat is the IIHS frontal-impact result and the matching Marginal rating for front-crash prevention effectiveness, which are worth weighing if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.85% compared with last year.
• It adds new tech, styling updates, and off-roading enhancements.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,197 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $38,359 CAD average.
• It offers useful truck-like versatility in a compact, quirky package.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Santa Cruz with the strongest tech and feature set, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the newer updates, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
