CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Honda Ridgeline
overall

Summary
With 91 currently listed for sale and an average price of $51,637 CAD, 25.3% of 2025 Honda Ridgeline listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Honda Ridgeline 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
Why it stands out
With the 2025 Honda Ridgeline, Honda takes a different approach to midsize pickup trucks. Rather than following the traditional truck formula, it uses crossover-like unibody construction and clever storage solutions, which help make it easier to live with than many pickups. Standard all-wheel drive is another advantage, and the truck’s comfortable ride and good handling add to its everyday appeal.
That more road-friendly character comes with trade-offs. The 2025 Ridgeline does not offer the towing capacity or off-road capability of more traditional trucks, and its technology is described as outdated. Even so, for buyers who want a midsize pickup that is practical, comfortable, and easy to use day to day, the Ridgeline stands out by doing things differently.

Reviewed a 2025 Honda Ridgeline on Oct 31, 2025
I started my truck search looking at full-size trucks, but honestly didn’t want the exterior size to be that big. Just on a side, have you noticed how a lot of the worst drivers on the road are driving the big full-size trucks? I didn’t know the purpose of having a Hemi to actually run people off the road. You know what I mean? That dude is barreling down the interstate doing about 87mph pulling a big @$$ box trailer and he’s like fish tailing all over the place? Back to the review. I drove a Jeep Gladiator, a Tacoma, a Colorado and the Nissan Frontier. The Gladiator was almost scary on the highway. Lots of wind noise and blowing me all over the place even at the lower highway speeds around 55-60mpg. For that reason, it didn’t make sense to me as a daily driver on paved roads. While the new Colorado and Tacoma have that brawny stance, neither of them have a V6. What’s the deal with the 4 banger turbo thing? It’s like Arnold Schwarzenegger in that old Christmas movie, “Jingle All The Way.” “I have to get the “Turbo Man!!” What they are not telling you about the 4 cylinder turbo stuff is that even if a 4 cylinder engine has the power of Ivan Drago in Rocky 4, it is working harder to produce that power compared to the naturally aspirated V6. Multiple mechanics I know personally have said the same thing. Inside, both Tac and Colorado were small and cramped. At first glance, you think they are going to be bigger inside then they are. This was disappointing and strange given how the outside is larger than their prior generations. An odd tech. thing about the Colorado was that you actually turn the headlights on using the touch screen. I also thought that the inside materials in the Colorado felt cheap. That glossy plastic stuff if you know what I mean. I liked the tow rating, but decided to keep shopping. The Frontier was actually my second favorite truck behind the Ridgeline. The naturally aspirated V6 instead of the turbo was already setting it above the other trucks. Then, I drove the Ridgeline and it was like Wow!! This thing rocks!! Honda’s proven reliable V6, smooth driving, yet flexible enough on the dirt or gravel roads, I can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed because there’s no stupid wheel well hump. I absolutely love the tailgate swing out! It gets my body closer to whatever goods I am lifting out of the back instead of having to lean forward. Honda nailed it with this feature! Plus, let me just say that Ridgeline’s interior almost feels like a full size truck. I have tall teenage boys and the first thing they said when they got in the Ridgeline was “Wow dad!! This is nice and big inside!” Plus, as roomy as it is, I like that Ridgeline fits in a standard garage space too! If you get heavy rains, or it happens to snow, it’s nice to be covered when you want to be. You’ve got drive settings for different terrain and that suits my needs. Another reviewer said the Ridgeline meets the needs of 80% of people driving trucks and he nailed it with that statement. it’s absolutely true. A lot of people are driving big trucks and Jeeps and they never actually use them for the purpose they are intended for. You have those folks that don’t actually need 4 wheel drive. If you’re like me, you want a truck that gives you the utility you need, want to grab some landcape supplies, sheet goods, farm or garden stuff, and rides awesome on both paved and gravel or dirt roads, this is the truck for you. Don’t you love these guys with Jeep fantasies that make stupid videos criticizing Honda trying to create skepticism like…. “Can it do any serious off roading?” You can’t criticize it for something it’s not designed for. If you want a rock crawler you get a Jeep or something similar (locking differential, higher ground clearance, a lift, bigger rubber etc,).

Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns a 5/5 user rating and an 7.83/10 expert rating.
The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.
It stands out because Honda takes a different approach to midsize pickup trucks, using crossover-like unibody construction and clever storage solutions that make it easier to live with day to day. Standard all-wheel drive, a comfortable ride, and good handling support its appeal if you want a practical truck that feels easy to use in everyday driving.
The trade-offs are clear: it does not offer the towing capacity or off-road capability of more traditional trucks, and its technology is described as outdated.
With 25.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of value-oriented inventory to consider.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Ridgeline’s unibody construction, solid fit and finish, and durable-feeling cabin all support the impression of a truck built for everyday use. Its smooth V6 and nine-speed automatic are described as an excellent combination, and the truck’s refinement helps it feel more solid than traditional body-on-frame rivals.
Honda’s three-year, 60,000-kilometre limited warranty and five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty are in line with what you’d expect in this class. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its limited towing and off-road ability may not suit you if your needs change.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Ridgeline?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Ridgeline’s clean, truck-like cabin has excellent fit and finish, but the base Sport misses SiriusXM satellite radio. The TrailSport adds off-road-focused hardware and unique styling, while the Black Edition brings the most equipment.
- Powertrain: You get a single 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and standard AWD. It is smooth and responsive, but the engine start-stop system is slow.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation. A 360-degree camera is not included.
- Infotainment: All models get a 9-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. The Black Edition adds navigation and an eight-speaker audio system.
- Fuel efficiency: Most models are rated at 11.5 L/100 km combined, while TrailSport models use 11.6 L/100 km combined.
Which 2025 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, TrailSport, and Black Edition.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Ridgeline’s core strengths: standard AWD, the V6, the 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model and do not need the extra equipment of the higher trims.
- TrailSport: This is the best-value trim if you want the Ridgeline’s more adventurous look and hardware. It adds all-terrain tyres, unique suspension tuning, and a front skid plate, while keeping the truck’s everyday comfort and usability intact.
- Black Edition: Choose this if you want the most upscale version, with navigation, an eight-speaker audio system, and rear USB-C ports. It is the most fully equipped Ridgeline, but it is also the priciest.
Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Ridgeline?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should be able to shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 91 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.83% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $50,862 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?
The current average of $51,649 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,925 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also suggests future sellers may face more competition if the market stays loose. A truck that is easier to live with than many rivals can still hold appeal, especially for shoppers who value comfort and practicality over hard-core truck credentials. If demand remains steady, that should help support resale strength over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline safe?
The 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and a four-star rating in rollover testing.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation.
The main caveats are that IIHS testing showed a Marginal headlight result, and the adaptive cruise control was slow to accelerate when traffic cleared. The lack of a 360-degree camera also stands out.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.83% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It carries over unchanged after the 2024 updates, so you still get the refined, practical formula with the TrailSport option.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $47,784 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $51,649 CAD average.
- It adds a new TrailSport trim and interior updates that modernize the truck.
The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the Ridgeline’s practical, comfortable formula and are happy with current pricing, the 2025 is the straightforward choice. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 offers a lower entry point while keeping much of the same appeal.
