Is the 2025 Honda HR-V a good car?

The 2025 Honda HR-V stands out as a practical, easy-to-live-with crossover that leans more on versatility and refinement than outright performance. For you, that means a compact SUV that is manageable in daily driving, with a good ride and the convenience of available all-wheel drive.

Its cabin and cargo flexibility are major selling points, with 691 litres of cargo space in the trunk and 1,559 litres with the rear seats folded. You also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the range, plus standard Honda Sensing safety features and 10 airbags.

If you want a compact SUV that prioritises practicality, standard safety equipment, and a refined driving experience over speed, this HR-V fits that brief well. 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda HR-V reliable?

The 2025 Honda HR-V is presented as a practical, easy-to-live-with crossover with a higher-quality interior and improved handling thanks to its Civic-based mechanical underpinnings. It also brings a good ride, standard safety equipment, and a straightforward ownership experience.

The trade-off is that the 2.0-litre engine makes 158 horsepower and is described as less powerful than some competitors. For long-term ownership, that means you should pay close attention to how the vehicle feels under load, especially if you regularly carry passengers or drive at higher speeds.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

If you find a listing below $32,039 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $32,054 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,373 CAD.

That price movement suggests the HR-V has softened enough to improve your buying position today. If you sell later, the current market level may limit upside compared with a stronger pricing environment. On the other hand, the model’s practical reputation and broad appeal should still help it remain easy to move when you decide to list it.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.87% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $35,451 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $32,054 CAD average.
• It adds a larger touchscreen with faster response times.

The 2025 is the better primary pick if you want the stronger value proposition and more favourable pricing right now. If you are price-sensitive, the 2025 makes more sense than paying extra for the 2026’s refresh.
