The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid fits well if you want a compact car that is easy to live with every day, because it combines strong fuel economy with a comfortable ride and a practical sedan-or-hatchback layout. The performance notes also point to a refined hybrid setup that transitions almost seamlessly between electric and gasoline power, while the cost-effectiveness section highlights that the hybrid can pay back its higher purchase price over time through fuel savings. If you plan to keep the vehicle for several years, that lowers the ownership-risk equation for used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is already one of the nicest in the class, but higher trim levels add a digital instrument panel for a more high-tech feel. The hatchback hybrid version also turns up the sportiness with a sleeker profile and more distinctive taillights.
• Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. It is front-wheel drive only, and the hybrid setup is expected to save 2 litres per 100 kilometres on average in combined driving versus the outgoing turbo powertrain.
• Safety package: Standard advanced safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. The top Touring trim extends automatic braking to parking lot speeds and adds parking proximity sensors and rain-sensing wipers.
• Infotainment: The base LX includes a seven-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The top Sport Touring Hybrid adds a nine-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, wireless smartphone integration, a wireless charging pad, and Google Built-in.
• Fuel efficiency: Honda estimates 4.8 L/100 km combined for the sedan and 5.0 L/100 km combined for the hatchback. Natural Resources Canada estimates annual fuel costs of $1,519 CAD for the Civic Hybrid sedan.

Which 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Sport Hybrid: This is the entry point to the hybrid lineup and gives you the core hybrid powertrain, strong efficiency, and the Civic’s comfortable, practical character at the lower price. It’s the better-value choice if you want the hybrid experience without paying for extra luxury and tech.
• Sport Touring Hybrid: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete version of the Civic Hybrid. It adds the digital instrument panel, larger nine-inch touchscreen, 12-speaker Bose audio, wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, and Google Built-in, making it the best fit if you value convenience and technology.

The top Touring trim also adds parking-related safety upgrades, including automatic braking at parking lot speeds, parking proximity sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 371 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $32,481 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,792 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The current range still shows healthy demand, though, especially for a model that combines efficiency with everyday practicality.

Because the Civic Hybrid is positioned as an affordable and attractive compact car with strong fuel economy, it should remain appealing to used shoppers who want a sensible ownership proposition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid earns five-star ratings in overall, side, and rollover protection from NHTSA, and four-star ratings for frontal collisions. It also earns the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's highest honour, Top Safety Pick+.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard advanced safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. The top Touring trim extends automatic braking to parking lot speeds and adds parking proximity sensors and rain-sensing wipers.

The main caveat is that the IIHS forward crash prevention system is rated Acceptable rather than Good, and seatbelt reminders are rated Marginal.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a new hybrid model to the Civic lineup, along with more power, significantly improved fuel economy, and a slight styling refresh.

The bottom line: If you want the Civic Hybrid with the newest hybrid powertrain and the strongest mix of efficiency, comfort, and everyday practicality, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, you may want to compare listings carefully and focus on the best-priced examples rather than rushing into the first one you see.
