CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Genesis GV70
Summary
- With 150 currently listed for sale and an average price of $52,960 CAD, 32.0% of 2025 Genesis GV70 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Genesis GV70 stands out as a compact luxury crossover that leans hard into style, craftsmanship, and technology. Its design is distinctive from nose to tail, with double-bar headlights and turn signals, an elaborate lattice grille, double-bar taillights, and a swept-back, muscular profile. Inside, it aims for a more upscale feel than many rivals, with fine leathers, quilted stitching, soft lighting, rich colour choices, and controls that feel substantial to the touch. It also benefits from a rear-wheel-drive-based architecture engineered specifically for Genesis, rather than sharing its core structure with front-wheel-drive Hyundai and Kia crossovers.
For 2025, the GV70’s appeal is not just visual. The model line includes a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, plus an available 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. The GV70 also brings standard all-wheel drive, a long list of driver-assistance features, and strong safety credentials, including an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation for each model year and five out of five stars in NHTSA crash tests. Buyers looking for a well-equipped luxury SUV will also find a generous cargo area, with 818 litres behind the rear seats and 1,611 litres with the rear seat folded.
There are a few trade-offs. The driving experience is described as sporty rather than fully balanced, with transmission behaviour that can feel too lazy in normal mode or too busy in sport mode, and steering that is vague off-centre. The suspension also allows more body roll than ideal, even with adaptive dampers on the stronger engine. Still, the GV70 remains appealing because it combines distinctive styling, a polished cabin, impressive technology, and a broad range of equipment that helps it feel special in a crowded luxury SUV segment.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV70 a good car?
The 2025 Genesis GV70 stands out as a compact luxury crossover that leans hard into style, craftsmanship, and technology. It offers a distinctive design, an upscale-feeling cabin, standard all-wheel drive, and a broad equipment list that helps it feel special in a crowded segment.
It also suits you if you want a luxury SUV with generous cargo space and a strong safety profile. The GV70’s market position is supported by 26.5% of listings being priced as good or great deals.
Is the 2025 Genesis GV70 reliable?
The 2025 Genesis GV70 brings strong safety credentials, including an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation and five out of five stars in NHTSA crash tests. It also benefits from a rear-wheel-drive-based architecture engineered specifically for Genesis, rather than sharing its core structure with front-wheel-drive Hyundai and Kia crossovers.
For used buyers, that combination suggests a lower long-term ownership risk than a vehicle with weaker safety credentials or a less purpose-built platform.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Genesis GV70?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 151 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.58% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $52,899 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Genesis GV70's resale value?
The current average of $52,899 CAD sits slightly below last year's $64,181 CAD.
That price movement suggests the GV70 has become more accessible in the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing means your resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. For a future seller, well-kept examples should still stand out, but you should expect buyers to compare closely on price.
Should I buy a 2025 Genesis GV70 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.58% compared with last year.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $48,286 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $52,899 CAD average.
- It offers a fresh-feeling luxury crossover with a standout electric variant.
Consider the 2026 if:
- At $62,328 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $52,899 CAD average.
- It adds a wide OLED display and a more advanced technology package.
The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around choice if you want the current model-year balance of price, inventory, and features. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you like its distinctive identity and lower average price.
