What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis GV70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model can feel short on certain tech features, while higher grades add more premium equipment and a stronger luxury feel. The Sport grades also bring more distinctive styling and special interior treatment.
• Powertrain: You can shop the 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder or the 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6. The V6 adds much stronger performance, standard all-wheel drive, and an electronically controlled suspension system on the V6 grades.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Genesis Highway Driving Assist is also standard, with lane centring and automatic lane changing functions.
• Infotainment: A 14.5-inch high-definition LCD infotainment screen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is not wireless, and the interface can feel slower than average to respond.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel consumption for the V6 at 11.6 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Genesis GV70 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis GV70 is offered in 6 trim levels: Select, Advanced, Advanced Plus, Prestige, 3.5T Sport, and Sport Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the GV70’s core luxury look, standard all-wheel drive, and the main safety and tech features. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is the trim most likely to leave you wanting more equipment.
• Advanced: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the top of the range. If you want a balanced mix of price and equipment, this is the trim to focus on first.
• Advanced Plus: This trim builds on the Advanced with more premium content and is a good fit if you want a richer cabin experience without going fully upscale.
• Prestige: This is the top trim with the 2.5-litre engine, so it suits you if you want the most luxurious version of the standard powertrain.
• 3.5T Sport: This is the first V6 grade and is the right pick if you want stronger performance and a more athletic character.
• Sport Plus: This is the most fully equipped version, with the strongest performance focus and the most premium hardware.

The safety package is standard across the GV70 lineup, which makes it easier to shop by comfort, performance, and luxury content rather than by safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis GV70?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,424 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis GV70's resale value?

The current average of $35,424 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,514 CAD.

That price drop suggests the GV70 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher. The model’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially among shoppers who value comfort and luxury.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
